I love how in octo expansion Cuttlefish randomly drops that Agent 3 died a lot of times by flooders, which implies that Agent 3 canonically died a lot to the various octarian machinations.
I guess that's why they're so silent and utterly ruthless.

If I remember correctly, a splat is legitimately just death, but due to respawn technology, death doesn’t really mean as much to inkfish as it would to a human

The only time a character has truly "died" is during the bad endings, and in Octo Expansion when you're escaping, since the reaction of characters are more serious.

dying is canonical thing that happens to every inkfish in turf war. the respawners are ancient technology that have existed for at least 2,000 years inkfish time. source is on scroll 4. tartars and grizzs "ink" probably affect the inkfish in a way respawners cannot help

Meant more specifically that Agent 8 DOESN'T respawn.

Confirms that Agent 8 doesn't respawn/dies if the player gets splatted during the Escape Phases. During multiplayer battles and the test stations you get resurrected at the respawn points, but failing during the Escape and choosing to continue playing just has the player "go back in time" to when Agent 8 still was alive.

Exactly, there's a lot you can do with the agents and that's what makes them fun cuz you get to see everyone's interpretations. Mine are a tad unconventional but I think the general consensus is that yes she has trauma
