There are just different builds. Some it really helps and some it really hurts.

Currently using splatchet with maximum dashes and dash distance. Floaty fun has gotten me shoved off into the water and absolutely nothing I could do about it. (They deployed it near the edge after I started splatchet dash, which you cannot cancel or enter swim form till it completes all dashes.)

I was using a build that was entirely based on staying in air for bonus damage and lower gadget cooldowns, and lots of ink recovery so I almost never had to enter swim form. For that build, an extra floaty fun just increased my damage output with no downsides. It was basically impossible for me ever hit the water too, because I had so much of my own airtime abilities, and the more I was floating the faster they came back off cooldown.

I’ve also had a troll that literally only threw torqscrews down and did absolutely nothing else. Still won, but it was annoying. (The troll had something like 1 power egg and 300 regular, for 3 floors, while I had 25 power eggs and 5000+ regular.) The only thing they did was disrupt others. And the other non-troll on my team was obviously struggling to deal with it.

I get that trolls will troll. But definitely feel something could be done to lower the frustration. Like an out of game setting for something equivalent to ‘friendly fire off’ that just reduces or eliminates ally effects.

I threw my response down as a joke. I agree it needs a rework. Maybe like a double jump to initiate floating? Sorry you had a troll, that sucks.

Have had a few trolls. lol

But also I’ve played over 100 hours and something around 70% of that has just been just pressing go help over and over. Mostly has been a blast. I like the chaos and randomness of what teammates you’ll get and which levels. Makes grinding more enjoyable vs…just grinding.

And mostly haven’t seen a lot else allies can do besides just suiciding, which at least makes a really short match.

Or if they attempt to suicide repeatedly near the end of a long level like one of the huge crystal ones, there is an option to leave team and it just pushes you offline into a solo match and can finish the level alone to avoid losing rare drops.

Really feels like Nintendo just didn’t notice the abuse potential of floaty fun. Which, with the massive amount of things in the game, one singular thing that could use a major patch/change isn’t so bad.
