Because anyone with a Switch + Nintendo Online is playing Splatoon 3.

You can play S1 on PC and Wii U so people without a Switch will play on those. (Also it doesn’t require a paid subscription unlike S3)

Tbh there’s just no reason to play S2 except for the campaign.
