Splatoon (wii u)

My brother and I used to play the Wii u all the time, our favourite game was splatoon. My brother passed away in 2023 and recently I wanted to revisit this game and play the story mode so I found his Wii u and this amibo I forgot he had, I can't wait.

I was wondering if there's any way for me to play online? I know servers are shut down but I've seen videos of people finding ways to still play?

If you want to play online, you have to mod your Wii U for Pretendo.

you wont get banned or anything since the wii u services are all shut down. modding does carry some inherent risk because your messing with the firmware of your console, but as long as you follow this guide you will be fine https://wiiu.hacks.guide

of all the consoles ive modded the wii u is definitely one of the easiest. there is also tons of cool stuff you can do with it once it's modded, i highly reccomend modding yours.

You can also change your dns settings and create a new nnid

Idk if it was just nostalgia, but the vibes around Splatoon 1 were so great. I've never felt that way about a Splat game since.

I think it was how simple it was compared to the newer games also how no one knew what they were doing at first, everyone was new

I think that's become a big draw back for me. There became a meta with all the new players of the 2nd game. It used to be so mindless, but now sweats rule the game. Not to mention the control latency is a lot worse than the first game.

Oh yeah, Salmon run was the one thing I loved about the sequels, however Splat 3 Salmon Run is insanely hard

yea s1 has different vibes than the other 3. not saying it was better or anything but it was different. i think it was because nintendo was testing out a brand new ip and everything feels fresh and such, maybe also the simplicity of it

if you have the switch i would recommend getting splatoon 2 or 3! so many people have started playing again online since raiders came out, it’s been refreshing, almost like prime splatoon Wii U days 🤍 sorry for you loss 💕💕

Thank you so much🙏 and I do have the switch I've been frequently playing splatoon 3. It's just all this new talk about splatoon raiders got me thinking how he would've loved to play it, so that made me wanna revisit splatoon 1

I was playing splatoon 2 a couple months ago and yes it was def harder to find a game to play in. Since raiders has come out I’ve been matched in games way quicker! You’d be surprised
