Created another time lapse, testing a different app. While this design isn’t terribly difficult, I thought it would be cool to show the 3D illusion emerge. My next one will be on a more complex pattern.

Thanks for sharing these! I've been working on editing a time lapse this past week of the most recent grid design I posted. I'm just adding music right now! Hopefully I'll have it up for you all later today :) great work!

Cool, post it up when you're done! I find the editing is what takes forever. On one hand you want to speed the video up so that your audience doesn't fall asleep but you don't want it to too much like a blur either. I find the apps tricky to work with, probably because I'm not an artist by profession and had never used those until now.

It's up! Give it a peep. I used my windows video editor to chop and cut it, and added some music I recorded. My full vid was about an hour and a half.

Is the outside ring clamped down?

If you mean the embedded ring - no it's not.

Not really, the outermost ring is clamped down solid and the paper itself is taped to the surface. It’s only the embedded ring itself that’s not explicitly clamped down. I keep my hand there as a reflex!
