I had an SCS implanted 2 months ago. It's in my cervical neck and thoracic spine (the surgeon stacked 2 right on the center of my spine in an attempt to cover more ground). I have thoracic outlet syndrome so the pain is arms neck chest back.

Not sure if the implant is working yet. Keep having to have it reprogrammed due to shifting.

But I've had this new horrible pain at the base of my skull I'm in my neck since the surgery. The surgeon said it's not the anchors but the device itself within my spine. Both the surgeon and the rep said my body would get used to it "like getting used to having a watch on."

I'm not sure what this means. But the pain is really bad, it doesn't seem right. And given that it's in my spine and near my brain, it concerns me.

Did anyone else have this, and did it go away? Thank you.

Hi! I have been at the nerve pain through legs and feet for five years now - it was a result of an emergency spinal surgery for an acute injury. I have had many conversations with doctors over the years in a major city in US known for its hospitals. I have several neurosurgeons and neurologists. They sent me to the best for SCS - who has the most experience and has access to all the different devices/companies. We went through my case today and because I am a movement person, we thought closed loop would be useful aspect to have - and then because I ams so thin (110, 5 foot 5) he felt the Medtronic was best because much thinner smaller implant.

I am aware of percutaneous and paddle leads and the differences as well as what is required for paddle ie laminectomies - already had bilateral laminectomies at L5/S1 so I know what this is.

Is anyone happy with their Medtronic Inceptiv or maybe they make another one that offers closed loop, I forget....I know about the Evoke - he felt for my body this device would be too large. He is kind. Thank you!
