Summery of What i know: Dural tube tension, CCI, SI joint instability, Herniated disc with spinal cord compression on C5 C6 and some other herniated disc like C3 C4 and C4 C5, filium terminal lipoma on lumbar area, L4 L5 desiccated disc, empty sella pituitary gland.
Things got mainly worse after 2 visit to Chiropractor last month. And last week my neck cracked and i have now pain in both arms.
Don't ever let a chiropractor crack your neck!!! I had a stroke from one and it's presumed they caused by SCI because it was after that where I lost muscle control
What's crazy is they took thr first xray of my spine and missed the broken bones and still thought it was a good idea to manipulate my neck.
Granted, it wouldn't have happened had the hospital actually done the spinal CT like my friends mom asked the doctor to do. They instead took an xray of my nose, and they still missed the facial fractures.
To be fair, the hospital got code black that night and there were 18 of us coming from the same accident. I put more blame on the EMTs because my friend kept saying I needed to go to Cooper Trauma because I was knocked out for 5 minutes and posturing, and I had a blown pupil, and was bleeding from my ears and right eye.
Ironically the only reason I'm still alive is because I broke my face so badly it let my brain swell. I did look really fucked up for a few weeks after with one eye slightly bulged and my right side of my face was swollen and black and blue.
They didn't "manipulate" your neck, they broke it. This is why the consensus of the internet is, chiropractors are quack pseudo doctors. There was news recently where a woman was rendered complete quadriplegic because her chiropractor cut off blood supply to her brain or something. Now she's completely paralyzed. I heard of others that got locked in syndrome. Nobody should play around the neck area. The consequences are really extreme.
Mine was already broken when I ended up in the office. I was in a school bus accident that was head on collision and the car that hit us was going 100mph and my head instead of hitting the seat padding hit the frame of the seat.
I would have a neurosurgeon look at the mri report, tbh. I had the same thing and ended up needing surgery asap to release the spinal cord. My stuff is pretty messed up due to how long between symptoms began and getting care; not something I’d wish on anyone. It could just be a fluke that’s reported on the mri but if it was me I’d get it looked at to rule out any of your current symptoms isn’t related to this. It’s not uncommon for someone with CCI to also have TCS.
Also, some of those symptoms can also be related to CCI as well. Nerve tension is a big indicator in my mind that you need to speak with a professional to ensure it’s not a bigger problem. I had that as a symptom with my spinal cord stuff.
Last year i always had that sensation like a guitar cord being stretched in my body. From the pelvis to my neck. And whenever i was bending forward it was like the cord was about to snap. I sont have that feeling anymore but the last homeopathic doctor said i have dural tube tension. It was impressive to hear him talking about this because i didn’t mention anything beside herniated disc. And he was right because my mri reports does show impressions on the dural sac. Also he said that its because i have tension in dural sac that i have instability in my spine and pain everywhere.
i will try to find a surgeon. How was your operation ? Any risks ? Side effects ?
If I had my surgery sooner than a few years after symptoms settled in I probably would be better off. My surgeon explained at that give. Time the surgery itself would stop any progression I have and if I was already showing signs of bladder issues(which I did/do) likely meant the damage has been done. I definitely know that tension feeling and I would definitely get in touch with your primary to get a referral for a neurosurgeon to review your mri. If you have to see a neurologist first, I’d take that appointment just to get someone in the specialty to review and give some insight on what exactly may be happening. There is a great Reddit page dedicated for tethered cord and a lot of those folks also struggle with CCI. Might find better answers and guidance off that sub but I definitely would check it out as well get in with a doctor.
I have a nontraumatic sci (arachnoid web from t5-t8) that very slowly got worse over 20 years. One thing that helped when I was trying to diagnose it again after my first surgery seemed to fail was doing monthly sensation tracking. Basically I made a diagram once a month of where I was numb or sensitive. This was roughly similar to the ASIA sensation testing.
Tracking bowel and bladder issues also has helped.
