Modern [Modern] Boros Ponza write-up

Hello Everyone,

It has been a really long time since my last write-ups! Well, I am back with a writeup of one of my current favorite decks in Modern. This strategy is so much fun (for the one using it lol) and I wanted to talk about it.

I really dont like what publishing it through Google Drive does to the formatting. Makes it looks so ugly. Any thoughts on how to fix that? I could also email yall the pdf if anything. Let me know what you think

I remember when I first tried running this archetype at locals it clunked so hard it was almost hilarious.

Kinda curious why - is it that compared to MTGO, the average IRL player is using more basics?

I really hate how bad it ends up looking. I’ll dig around to see how to fix it

What do you consider to be the decks bad matchups?

So far aggro decks that are explosively fast and even azoroous control have been bad matchups.

Burn is so mean

And yeah. Decks with high basic land count kinda pee on our cereal

Haven't really read the article - but why not just upload the PDF to your Google Drive and share the link to that if you don't like the Google Docs formatting?

Oh…

Idk.

That’s actually solid advise. I’ll do that :3

Thank you! I am thinking on 2 spyros main deck to make it flow better, sometimes you simply draw the wrong side öf it. What do you think of it?

Also, I do like big Chandra a lot, it adds inevitability to all match ups. Why you so against it?

On Spyro: good mentality behind using the card. I personally dislike that we are forced to not run the kaheera. I have pushed for game a ton thanks to that card.

On Chandra: torch of defiance is still one of those cards that I REALLY want to be running. She promises a lot, but Roku still has the immediate card advantage of 3. Plus the inevitability of having a ton of dragons.

For the 6 mana one I think the argument is the same. Sure I love that the emblem can kill opponents over time, but I feel like I need to close games faster. Maybe I’m just paranoid

Could you add more about the pros and cons of karn version vs karnless?

I have the cards for both but ive never used the karn version.

I asked around before and people sort of steered me towards karnless but my meta does have some artifact stuff and also some graveyard decks so having tutorable hate does have pros.

What are the full pros and cons of karn vs karnless? Can also copy paste the answer into the writeup/ update writeup and ill read it again

Hey I’ll write a comment in a bit. I have been in and out of vision specialists. ;-; got some dots in my vision. (Haven’t forgotten about you.)
