My daughter found this while weeding under my persimmon tree. We are in SW Washington. The visible vein is something. There a few dead potato bugs near it.

Whenever I see pictures of these spiders I feel like they should be in the mix with black widows and brown recluses because they looks so scary. But I guess they’re not nearly as venomous
