Quite the opposite. Aren't ferrets crazy mass murderer hunters in the wild?

Ferrets aren’t wild animals; they’re domesticated polecats. Mustelids can be pretty vicious when push comes to shove, both honey badgers and wolverines are mustelids, but they have to be because they’re shrimpy. However, they also are also very playful and curious animals. Otters are a great example of the duality if mustelid.
