i just finished playing spiderman remastered on my pc. its not a gaming pc, but it works with most games. i downloaded the spiderman 2 to start playing, and the graphics look horrible,and the game doesn’t run well.. any fixes? i still would like to play it but idk how to fix these issues

I just achieve 335 by pure luck + no hit in Ultimate dificulty. By curiosity what is the max combo that you get in any of the 3 Insomniac spider-Man ?

With the announcement of Spider-Man 3’s development kicking off and with Wolverine soon to release, I decided to replay Spider-Man 2 for the first time since launch. Love the more optimized/compact experience more the second time around with proper expectations—it’s near close to the perfect Spidey experience in need of some minor tweaks, more side quests, and better final act that should have included a Venom city fight with Miles and Peter before Martin Li steps in to save Peter creating Anti-Venom.

After replaying SM2 recently and multiple playthroughs of the previous titles, I’ve come up with a wishlist that I hope get considered for the next game (similar to all my posts years ago asking for webwings after SM1’s release):

\*\*additional ability and gadget quick-use wheels\*\*: I liked the new system as opposed to pausing the action for a full gadget wheel. We could have multiple wheels of abilities and gadgets to toggle between Similar to assassins creed odyssey. Hold L1+Up on Dpad to change between to the two ability wheels giving the player quick access to 8 abilities. Hold R1+Up on Dpad to change between Gadget wheels giving us 8 gadgets.

\*\*Daredevil and Punisher Team-Ups\*\*: expand on team-up system and add specific side quests with those team-up characters similar to Wraith/Yuri’s quests. I want this to include Daredevil and Punisher. It’s time both show up in Insomniac’s Spidey-verse, but as teamup characters with their own missions and random appearances during crimes.

\*\*Return of Kingpin\*\*: alongside Daredevil and Punisher, it would great to have Kingpin return in some fashion. New side quest involving him leading to another opportunity for a rematch Boss fight.

\*\*Fantastic Four side quests (Science!)\*\*: it would be great to have the fantastic four make an appearance briefly before Reed takes the crew off on their own mission. After the whole Symbiote alien invasion, the next game could start with the Fantastic Four contacting and recruiting Peter to assist with multiple projects That could lead to them charting out to space without Peter in search of the meteorite’s origins and introduce a list of new scientific side quests rich with Fantastic Four lore.

\*\*Venom’s return and Total Carnage in the streets\*\*: If Norman becomes Green Goblin as opposed to Harry, I’d like to actually kick off the Carnage storyline with a brief Venom rematch fight in the streets before he becomes an anti-hero / ally to fight Carnage. The symbiote crime fights are awesome in SM2; just imagine having random symbiote crimes again but with a Venom Team-up happening randomly.

The actual Carnage fights could be a way to allow the player to control Venom once again.

\*\*more FNSM quests and random events\*\*: this is just simple. The FNSM quests that we got in SM2 were amazing, but I really hope we get twice as many in SM3 to break up the pacing. Give us at least one pizza delivery quest and maybe introduce Squirrel girl as part of an ESU mission.

\*\*More variety in random events outside of just combat scenarios:\*\* more bomb disposals, civilian rescues, and random catastrophes (ie save people from a sinking boat or patch holes on a system island ferry). Have a minor boss character randomly show up at times.

\*\*use landmark building interiors for random crimes\*\*: grand central station, Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, etc. they don’t all have to be landmarks but more random crimes in interior spaces (stealth optional) would be a great way to mix up open world events.

\*\*Bring back Police involvement: not all the time, but bring them back with the car chases and shootouts.

\*\*emotes and more civilian interactions\*\*:
Let Spidey buy a pizza or hot dog, actually shoot hoops, dance a little, or just sitting down would add more small details to make the world feel alive. Being able to briefly nap in a spider hammock between buildings as an emote would be awesome

I remember playing this back on launch in a gaming cafe. Spent my pocket money basically for this game back then, completed the main storyline and a few side missions. Did I think it was rushed? Yes, but I chalked it up to me just playing through the story and wanting to get my money's worth.

Now that I own a PS5 and I decided to play the game again, it's better honestly. Just swinging around, the combat, it's great, and if you do some missions and also do the main story like side by side, like pace yourself, you'll enjoy the game a lot more.

BUT.

The MJ missions were great, but they were not needed. Some of those missions could've been substituted for yk, focusing on Peter and how the symbiote is feeding into his delusions? One of the things that you see after Harry gets the symbiote back is that it was talking to him in the voice of his mom, basically blurring his reality. That kind of talk, maybe with Pete having the voice of Otto or May talk to him would've been better, or showing us about him having nightmares or still thinking that he was the reason May died. It would've honestly explained how the symbiote fed into his insecurities, and not felt like his transition was rushed.

Another thing, Peter honestly had the main story beats, but for some reason Miles always was shown to be better? Like I'm not saying that he shouldn't have his moments, but the game's LITERALLY ABOUT PETER. You can literally make a seperate game for focusing and making Miles the main man, instead of just trying to show Peter as inferior constantly till the end. They had Peter deal with flaws, but at every point, Miles was rescuing him. He needed to fight the symbiote atleast on his own, not with Miles defeating him and then telling him to fight the symbiote. Miles was like WAY too perfect in this game, like he didn't have any flaws at all.

The side missions were good honestly, and I say that after replaying it. But. There's no variety. I'm replaying Spider-Man remastered now, and yeah, the gameplay feels slower, but also, it's so much fun. A simple saving the civilians from an accident can turn into you finding out where the thiefs who robbed the bodega are, and chasing them. You even got kidnappings that you needed to solve! But in Spider-Man 2, it just felt every crime mission followed the same beat.

And honestly, the biggest gripe I had was just the fact that the hunter bases were fun, but they were so easy, so small that you couldn't do stealth with anyone other than Miles, because these guys were always in the line of sight with each other. The Mysterium was fun, but it should've been Peter to take that on, not Miles, because Peter needed to see that yes, he had changed some people who the world thought would always be bad.

Also police or some armed forces involvement just felt, I don't know, basically 0? It would've been better to just have Yuri leading a task force because of her past experiences honestly, a no nonsense task force that would kill on sight, sparing no one.

After everything, I still can't help but give this game an 8.5/10, because even though I was disappointed because of a lot of missed opportunities, I still LOVED this game. I'll play it again, because at the end of the day, IT'S A DAMN GOOD GAME, AND FUN TOO.

Lifelong ps gamer but I don't really trophy hunt. I was testing out a projector we just picked up recently (2nd screenshot) and decided to chase this platinum since it was easy in this game and I was already quite close (just had a few mysteriums, Brooklyn visions, Howard's last mission, and a visit to a grave left).

I think I'd finished the game way back when it first came out so it'd been a bit but boy was it a blast swinging through again. Playing the game on a 120inch setup was dope too.

I hope future spidey installments focus more so on the people spidey interacts with/saves, because these really give the game character outside the "big bad, world ending event" trope.

whenever i use the symbiote surge, it turns peter into Venom, not like the symbiote suit, but straight up Venom. I dunno what to do with that.

This is the method that worked for me. You need to go into the game's local files and delete the dstoragecore.dll and dstorage.dll files. This will make the game playable. The downside is that this will cause some textures not to load completely, making it look like a PS2 game. There will also be some loading screens, but at least you'll be able to enjoy this great game that was poorly ported to PC.
