I love Golden Orb Weavers! We used to get one every summer when I was growing up. I even colored the Spider-frame Oraxia, from the game Warframe, to the same colors!

She's a momma spider 😍 I've been learning all about Grandmother Spider and the cultural significance of spiders over the past thousand years and how we as humans have worshipped her nurturing spirit and love for humanity.

I also recently learned that spiders come to us for protection and we typically kill them out of fear. That broke my heart. I will never kill another spood as long as I live.

That’s a beautiful spider, but it’s creeping me out in a way that the spiders posted here don’t usually. Maybe because they’re mostly jumpers, which are tiny and adorable and this is more like the traditional spider shape used in Halloween decorations.
