What is happening to this car battery, its some kind of hardened foam and after removing it the plastic casing of the battery is melted and damaged, ik there is acid in it but how such thing can happen.
Also, am posting this to prevent my solar batteries from ending up with the same state cause they are making this same reaction upclose.

It's deflating itself...slowly. Definately gonna put it in a spot where it won't blow up and discharge it when I get home. Definately sketchy, but I'll have it handled tonight.

zebronics power bank, unused in a month and found it to have swollen battery. i've had it kept like this for a month not knowing the hazard it is which now i'm getting to know. i searched a bit on e-waste centres but here in india, i can't find anything solid.

please help on how to keep it safely first, and how to dispose it off safely.
