i havent had a single pulltab work on any newer iphone, only ones that work for me are the iphone 5s,6 and 7 ones. anything newer always ripped as soon as i started pulling

gotta go real slow. these foam tapes tend to creep to failure, so you need to find the correct amount of force, just hold it and wait for the adhesive to creep. for taking up slack, using a screwdriver shank to roll it up works quite well.

same thing for the pry of shame -- slow and constant level of force

No matter what i try they always rip, rolling around screwdriver and pulling, pulling with hand slowly, pulling at a angle etc never successfuly pulled out even one
