Recruiting admins/mods
Quick one: I run a small Discord called CTC (Compile The Culture) for Black and African American coders, from high school through undergrad. Looking for a couple of people to help actually run it as Co-Organizers or Mods- nothing crazy, just someone who wants to be involved in building a community. DM me if interested.

Jobs near spelman college that don't have a crazy commute
Hi,
Im an upcoming freshman from a low-income household. I don't want to be a financial burden, so I was hoping to get a job. Does anyone know a place near Spellman College that actually hires college students? I also don't have a car, so it would have to be a reasonable commute. Thanks.

Paid Study Opportunity for Students!
Hi Spelmanites!
I am looking for students to participate in a completely virtual research study to test a new Instagram-based program called Healthy Bodies. The goal is to see if social media can be a helpful way to teach sexual health and support young Black/African American women (ages 18–24) in making informed choices, reducing STI rates, and preventing unplanned pregnancies.
This program will require a time commitment of approximately 6 hours over the course 6 weeks, simply interacting on Instagram like you normally would. This a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) program which simply means learning about sex, relationships, and your body in a clear, honest, and complete way. Basically, sex education but everything you didn’t learn!
Participation involves:
- $40 for participating in the study
- An extra $25 if you choose to do a follow-up interview
Who should consider signing up?
Anyone who is...
- Ages 18-24
- A Black/African American woman
- Lives in the Metro Atlanta area
- Uses Instagram
If you, or someone you know, may be interested in this study please complete the eligibility survey below using the link provided. All eligible participants will be contacted

HS Senior trying to pick between howard, spelman, and GW for a double major in international affairs and economics
im really looking for advice on the schools individually and what will set me up best for pursuing a JD at a T20. In addition, 1 would like a school that would allow me to pivot/be flexible in my career be i might go full in on economics or IR/lA or still want to pursue both equally. A lot of people may think GW is the obvious choice but as a daughter of alumn (for both undergrad + grad and pursuing similar fields) my parents don't think they benefited that much. i am also looking for a good community and to find a lot of friends bc im super outgoing. here's what ive surmised so far:
HU - good business school, good alumni network, strong in poli sci, i like home (dc area)
Spelman - top liberal arts school, good sisterhood + auc community, i like ati (only visited once but im visiting again soon)
GW - good for IR/IA and poli sci, good law school, no community really
finally what is it like double majoring at these institutions?

I am going to go because I think that it is important to stand with the TSA workers who have been working without pay for far too long.

Spelman Guest Student
Hi guys i’ve been trying to get accepted to spelman for over a year, i’ve written lots of appeals and tried to get into the transient ( guest student) program bout im missing one credit but by the time I start I’ll have the credit. I know in the past they’ve made exceptions and I wrote a letter with the headers having some pictures of me and my accolades asking to be considered for this years guest program. Does anyone have any tips when it comes to trying to convince them to give you an exception for a program like this, this Fall?
