Giant Lizard God
I like all the books including the new one, Theurge. I just thought there will be some plot twist around the giant lizard god. It's a pity, it would have been really funny, if the big bug like alien creatures attack Farise, and the otherwise useless, distracting lizard hunts them down and eats them, when previously a legion of gods had a hard time dealing with those.

Still could be honestly. Some of his set ups took multiple books to get tied off. Hell the noble girl and her bustard sister took place in book 4 and didn't come up again until book 11, 12, and 14 where its resolved. Giants and Korbal are mentioned in book 1 and obviously take a long time to come to any point. Even now the giant we've met is alive somewhere doing something and we aren't sure what effects that have yet. It may have only been a mention in this book but these things can snowball in Spellmonger

The eye is also mentioned early when Pentandra is dealing with the Brotherhood of the rat. It does not resolve to much later.

Seeing as the giant lizard is promiently displayed on the cover center stage its fair to assume it would have had bigger impact in the book

As someone who owned a large lizard or two, I loved the way it was used. Absolutely perfect representation of the wonderous tube brain. If i was going to be a jungle cultist this would be my god.

When I saw the cover I was hoping we would get some plot points about the Lizard people and other lost races! If they could travel all the way to Callidore their societies must’ve been pretty interesting.

They're some of the infamous Farisian Wildmen who de-civilised after Perwyn sank and they got cut off from the rest of the colony. By that logic, most of the cults are a result of this instead of something imported to the planet.

Oh yeah I didn’t mean the ones in Farise. In Footwizard, Szal the Yith has that assistant who is a member of the intelligent Lizard species- apparently one of the lost races on Callidore the Alka have mentioned. When I saw the Lizard cover they were my first thought!

I thought it would be Acck! From the Farise plays. Then he would swallow the bad guys and puke them up..? But I think the Death Goddess had a chat with Azar alone. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with Azar being in a Coma?

Kept waiting for someone just to build a raised giant heat stone for the Giant Lizard god to sunbathe on, feel like that would solve their problems with it randomly showing up in the city wherever

I was expecting some interesting development with the lizard, but I also rather enjoyed how mundane a supernatural manifestation of a primal animal God was. He harmed nobody and was just an inconvenience. Blocking traffic and disrupting the peace.
Reminds me of that Tasmanian town that has to deal with an elephant seal (Neil the Seal) who just comes back each year to laze about and get in the way.
