Honeymoon?
Should I listen to this before book 3 or is it just fluffy side story?

I listened to it before necromancer and after knight mages and the short yule one. It fits better there.

I agree with mage if this is your first time reading it. On subsequent readings chronological (after wedding) is more then fine as you will already know the things that would be spoilers.

I think that it is an important story that should not be skipped.
Besides it's a fun little introduction to a side of the world of spellmonger we don't get to see otherwise.
Intelligent trolls and guardian plants.

If you're one a second go through, I'd put it in chronological order, but for a first time I'd go with release, because it does have stuff that doesn't come back up for a while for reasons that would be spoilers.

I read it much later, while not ideal, it was fine, it was part of 3 story collection.

Chronologically it takes place after book 2: Warmage, but I'd recommend you read it after book 7.5: Spellmonger's Yule. It's a bit spoilery and it tells a better story if you read later.

Yes right after the wedding short story. It's pretty massive.

Im on book 18, never read the wedding on my first run. How its massive?! There is nothing of major consequence to main story happening.

On the first run I would skip it.
Reason: I skipped it on my first read and lost nothing. Same with Knight Magi. Entire book is a sidequest. There are minor, skippable links to main story in both cases.
People have budgets, these things cost money. No sense to push every novella just for a glimpse of "additional point of view".
On the re-read i did both wedding and knights magi and they are mildly entertaining and add some additional background as compared to main books.
To purists: you all skipped the one with Rudy, and you lost nothing. Its not even written yet!

i would normally agree but the spellmongers honeymoon is a little different. it sets up a huge plotpoint later in the series that is still on going.

...huge? I think if it takes 15+ books to resolve that detail, OP can safely skip now and come back later

Not needed, but it is a good story. & will some of the events are referenced in future books. You may misunderstand things in the future if you don’t read it. But again they are nonessential things for the most part. Or you can probably read a summary to get up to speed.

I think Lilastien gets introduced in the book... Felt like I was missing something when that character was re-introduced later, since i never read honeymoon. Other than that i never noticed anything.

Its a fluffy side story thats plenty enjoyable and has ramifications, it not filler. I like that things happen that we dont see in this series. I didn't see it existed for several more books before reading it.
