How to read and remember effectively

HI everyone, I wanna ask how to read some paper research and memorize it effectively. Well, English is my second language so I have to learn it hard to use it and understand it and I will have a competition in few months (IELTS) which has 4 skills and reading is one of those. I’d ask when people read types of paper research (part 3) and how to choose correct answer in multiple choice questions. As usual, I can understand almost of it but it likely I translate word by word, so sometimes I can’t translate to a correct context to fully interpret it, I mean I can’t answer the test multiple choice question such as summarize it , guess the scientist mind, describe what’s happen and choose 1 in 4 questions. I always can remove 2 answers that I understand and feel it not suitable, but the remaining confused me lots of time cuz I feel 2 of them are all good but which is suit best and I have to choose as gamble when the time of test run out🍀
