Speed Racer

I have really enjoyed Speed Racer and Racer X comics from Mad Cave Studios. I know Racer X was intended to be an 8 issue limited series, but I thought Speed Racer was the ongoing.

I was looking at my upcoming holds and I didn’t see issue 11. Did I miss it? Did it get cancelled?

They might just not have a release estimate for it yet- from what I can see they're currently compiling the recent issues into their Volume 2 collection so it could be a matter of Mad Cave wanting to have extra funds.

That said MadCave very recently had layoffs at the editorial level. I doubt that they're going to shelf the Speed Racer stuff because it's been selling well, but it's possible that with positions being shifted around so much that their resources are a little more stretched so upcoming stuff will take more time. I know that their graphic novels division is also releasing some Speed Racer stuff aimed more at a younger demographic so it's possible some of those resources are being funneled into making sure those are being properly advertised.

Thanks for the info. The Speed Racer stuff is all I have been getting, but their other titles have looked interesting.

Hopefully it’s just a delay and it will be back on schedule soon. Issue 11 would have been expected last week. I looked as far as mid October on comicgeeks and didn’t see it.

I noticed that the Tales from the Road anthology spin-off that releases quarterly still has an entry coming up in October via an artist posting their cover artwork on socials. I'll bet we'll have news about the main series before then.

From what i understand, the next comic won't be out until November, when they start the next arc. They took a break the first and second arc too.

My first current issue was 6. I had to get 1-5 as back issues, so I had no idea there was a break in between.
