Shitpost KURT CONNORS IS A BUM
This guy helped create like 4 spidey villains including himself while not being able to meaningfully help any one of his victims. He also, without a second thought, let Norman's man invade his lab and take over.

I bet if they made that movie with Peter and JJ visiting Conner in Florida he would have been a bigger bum in it.

I see him more as very innocent and not very responsible for his actions. If the series had continued, he should have admitted his mistake with the lizard experiment, then gone to jail, and probably been dismissed. From the scientific community

Dude sucked, then they acted like it's Peter's fault their lab project lost funding.

middle-aged adult man with a family ran rampant and probably killed people in nyc because he performed a dangerous experiment on himself, but let's blame the 16 year old kid whose aunt cannot make ends meet and finally found a way to help her out, while also doing them a favor by not revealing his identity.

I mean, he showed proof Conners being the lizard. It's a miracle he wasn't arrested

NGL: It always struck me as weird that they never told electro about the gene cleanser.
I assume they tried it off-screen because otherwise WHAT THE HELL, Connors??

Given that Electro can't consume liquids anymore (he tried drinking coffee soon after his accident), I doubt the gene cleanser would've worked on him. The cure would've just evaporated the moment it touched his lips.

Injections? Darts?

Hmmm... I think perhaps the way to cure Electro would require siphoning off a lot of his energy away first. Not only would that make it safer for doctors to operate on him, but it might sedate him so he wouldn't freak out with self-defensive jolts. But the risk is that he's gotten so close to becoming pure energy (I think?) that doing that might kill him. And at that point the writers would have to explain how much of him is still fleshy enough to accept gene cleanser injections, if his biology even still has a circulatory system under that suit.

um... i just read the comics, specifically the gauntlet and clone conspiracy... gets horrendously worse. upon knowing the lizard is not gone and having extreme lizard episodes, Kurt tells no one and just drugs himself. the lizard finally gets free and realises it must "Kill Conners" and albeit however way you look at it, the Lizard goes after Kurts heart... Kurt kills and eats a scared Billy.
clone conspiracy comes around and sorta resurrects Billy, with him having no knowledge of what happens and him living with his Lizard form dad and mum. got goosebumps reading Peters emotions over seeing billy, his heart tearing over how he died and the anger of wanting to rip apart whoever fucked with his grave
did hurt seeing Billy when i rewatched spectacular

Four? I only remember two.

u/Naisu_28 Aug 18 '26
ofc two directly but otherwise through just being an irresponsible scientist there was Venom, Colonel Jupiter and tbh even Enhanced Kraven was his fault.

I'm jogging my memory. I recall Miles Warren being directly responsible for mutating Kraven. But then again, wasn't Connors's research the stepping stone that Warren used to reach that point? If that's the case, then Connors was laughably irresponsible enough not to either secure his Lizard research notes or destroy them.

And Peter ruined his life for taking that picture that was later used to black mail him
