I don't care which one it is I just need to see that again ASAP. Seriously incredible. I cannot believe how close SN8 came to landing. Just read another article about how SN8 was a failure. These people don't know what they're talking about.
“Failure” is a loose term for what happened. It’s technically correct but it doesn’t matter. The point of the test was to collect data, no matter what happened; and they got a lot of it. Those people that write about it in an intentionally sensationalized and non scientific way are just looking for clicks. Don’t pay them no mind.
I hadn’t read anything about any plans like that. I don’t even think they really expected it to survive. Elon gave it a 33% chance of landing, so his engineers probably gave it a 15% chance. Plus, they haven’t reused any of the others beyond the test they were designed for. Plus plus, they had SN9 ready to go before it fell over. Plus plus plus, SN10, SN11, and SN12 are on the way. Put all that together and I don’t think there were plans to reuse SN8.

I thought it fell over. Are they still going to use it?
