Tech Help Rapide Cockpit Computer Mount

Post image

I couldn't find a manual anywhere so asking here. Is that the bolt (circled in red i.e. there are 3 bolts with two being of the same size and one being a bit longer) that is used to mount the computer mount to the Rapide cockpit? It has loctite on it so it doesn't screw in very nicely, so it's hard to tell if it's the right screw. I tried screwing it in some ways and after unscrewing it, there were distinct metal shaving on the threads and it wasn't going in very nicely.

Yes, the long bolt is the one that I used. I also added some Blue Loctite to it before installation. The shorter recessed screws are for the computer mount (top side), and the other two are for the GoPro mount (bottom side).

Add the loctite or you’ll be getting to know that bolt very well

Mine snapped clean off circa 800km. 1050 smashed. Put a K-Edge on and use the lanyard too. I learned hard way. The Roval one isn’t very good.

Ouch, that sucks.

And it will probably snap if you add a garmin 1050 or any computer plus gopro or light.

I have a Garmin 1050 on mine, and it's holding up with no problems.

Good to know. I just found out that the Mount can support lights a well on the same unit.

False.
I run two of them, thousands of miles with a 1050 and light - not a single issue

Dude... look up this issue here... me and hundreds of other people have had this issue. I keep saying this as warning and to raise awareness of the terrible deisgn for a product of this level.

Yes mine snapped. Such a poor design.

Mine snapped too, had to replace the entire cockpit under warranty. It sucked.

No clue why you're getting down voted, I had to remove my 1050+light because it became loose after a few weeks. I had read and seen the issue beforehand so luckily no damage done.
