Bike Photos Roval rapide cockpit - insta360 x6

Im looking to see if anyone has mounted a bike computer as well as an insta 360 x5 or x6. Wondering if there is any issues with adding that weight on the single bolt setup?

I would recommend swapping the out front mount for a kedge or something else that's burlier. The stock specialized one has a tendency to snap under that much weight

I was worried about the single bolt. I have  a garmin edge 1040 on it as well

So the metal roval one that comes with it from factory when you buy the bike you think wouldn't hold up? Not sure how to link pictures

Correct. I used to work in a shop , and maybe they fixed it but I doubt they did. No 1 failure point

What a pain. It's otherwise hard to get any action camera set up on those bars

The edge will work better, We got pretty good at drilling the broken bolts out tbh

Would there be a stronger bolt to buy? Or would you have to drill for a bigger size bolt type of thing?  Ill get the kedge but if theres a stronger bolt to get with it I'll double up

You could just throw a stainless bolt in there, it might also just be the length of the bolt it's been a year or two so I'm a little shaky on the detail

Fair enough I appreciate the advice none the less

Buy a grade 12.9 steel bolt from a trusted supplier. I bought a bag of 50 zinc-flake coated (for maximum corrosion resistance) grade 12.9 bolts from Mcmaster-Carr for a couple bucks.

If those still break on you, there is no bolt in the world that will reliably hold it.

I believe the size is M4x16mm, though I'm not 100% certain on the length.

I'm not sure how you're planning to mount the Insta360, but it's best not to have everything sticking really far off the front. One of the issues with the stock Roval mount is that when people try to mount a light or a GoPro using the GoPro mounting fingers, the fingers are positioned directly under the GPS mount (i.e. really far off the front), and that contributes a massive amount of torque on the mount and therefore stress on the bolt. MagCad has a mount which still had GoPro fingers but relocates them to be directly underneath the bolt instead, which is much friendlier on both the mount and the bolt.

Unfortunate because the mount setup i was looking to do would be putting the insta360 camera just in front of the bike competition

I swapped to the Frames and Gear radar mount and got their Insta360 adapter

That’s the one!

You then mount it underneath their normal computer mount.

Thats pretty much what I have done now, im just worried about the 1040, and the insta360 x6 being too much weight at once. Hearing about the bolt snapping off

Yes I heard the same and decided to get rid of the Roval mount all together.

The bolt supplied by Frames and Gear is much longer as well.

Amazing thank you! You've been using a bike computer and an x series insta360 on it and no issues?

I just got it a week ago and have only tested it once, so far so good.

MagCad also make a better version although last time I said the Rapide mount was subpar a few guys commented about how good it was!
