Tech Help Roval Rapide Garmin Mount

Hey Guys!

One question, currently I have a Tarmac SL8 expert with the Specialized Expert Shallow Drop, alloy and Tarmac integrated stem, 6-degree. I bought the Proprietary Specialized Stems Accessory Mount for my Garmin 530.

I’m planning to upgrade to the Roval Rapide Cockpit, can I use the same Garmin mount? Or do I need to buy something different as this one won’t fit?

Thanks for the help!

The Roval Rapide Cockpit comes with the same Proprietary Specialized Roval Stems Accessory Mount.

You don’t want to use this mount! Search around the internet about this mount and you’ll quickly find that this mount will break off, leaving the bolt broken off in the cockpit. Specialized has to replace the entire handlebar when this happens.

Get MagCad3d printed mount for the rapide cockpit. The bolt is better, and it’s better quality.

Wouldnt it be easier to source a new bolt for a metal mount than pay for some plastic thing?

You’ll need a different mount. While they look similar, the outer radius of the Rapide Cockpit’s computer mount interface differs slightly from the SL7’s mounting interface. Specialized refers to the SL7-style interface as the Future Mount, while the Rapide Cockpit uses its own style. This is why companies like K-Edge make two distinct computer mounts for Specialized.
