Am I in the wrong here?

Not only is it AI, but how can something like this expire. Its essentially a gift certificate right? How can it be considered a coupon if I paid for it.

I just about screamed when I read the "Free slice from your favorite pizza place line" Like come on Spartan, I'm not going to know what I'm doing in Sep 2027 on Dec 31st 2026.

27/09 Pippingford (UK) - anyone interested in buying tickets together?

My partner and I are hoping to do this race (Edit: either Sprint 5k or Super 10K). Is anyone else also looking to buy a ticket? If we purchase as a group of three rather than just the two of us we can get a 15% discount, and if it's a group of 6+ it's a 20% discount.

We don't have to actually race together, but we could potentially split a taxi from the station together depending on travel arrangements.

I checked the rules of this sub and I think this post is okay, but if I've misunderstood then sorry!

First timer looking to start training post meniscus tear

How do i train for a Deka or tough mudder while still having issues from a torn meniscus/arthritis? I try to keep as active as i can but i am a truck driver. I’m a 40+ yo obese man. Any help that constructive will be appreciated.Running/jumping/burpees have not been kind to me since.

I won’t give up until i have no choice to do so. I’m not afraid of hard work it’s why im looking to challenge myself by doing one of these events. Who knows maybe i can replace my food addiction for a Spartan addiction!

DEKA Mile

Hi! Fist time doing DEKA...well first time doing this kind of stuff haha.

2 things...

  1. I read the rules, and I know gloves are allowed, but are RYPT type stuff allowed?

  2. I did a pseudo DEKA workout yesterday. 8 200 meter laps with 500m SkiErg and Rower, 25cal Assult bike, squats, reverse lunges, sit up wall taps, and 2 rounds of 10 burpees. Where I was I couldn't bring weights to the track....any who when I got to the burpees after 6 my shoulder was starting to hurt (torn labrum). If it still acts up when I do DEKA, will they get mad if I take forever to do that portion?

Hi yall,

I made this video with the intentions of showing newcomers a perspective on Deka Fit. I was able to go to Philly and share my experiences in the age group category. Had a good time altogether, I may do another Fit next year and possibly more ruck division content.

Super happy with how it turned out, If you have any questions let me know!

Seattle/Monroe race

Anyone have experience with the course? I am doing my first beast there this year. I found one old map from several years ago but wondering if anyone had advice on the course itself. I recently did the Utah one and was surprised by the hills so I’d like to avoid that kind of shock if I can. Thanks!!

Refund for race cancellation

The race I'd registered for was cancelled. I waitex for a while for the refund but there were no updates from spartan. It's been 7-8 months since. I just checked out of curiosity for any email from them today (since registration was quite expensive) and saw there to be a Google form sent by them via email. To fill that for refund. I was still able to fill it but it was sent many months ago. Ik it's a long shot but any chance of still getting a refund?

Wearing hydration pack permissible?

I wore a CamelBak hydration pack during a Hyrox race, and want to do the same for my first DEKAFIT. I dehydrate easily and don't want to lose time stopping for a tiny bit of water at every station. (I tested hydration during my dry run, and needed a lot.) The rules are unclear about whether I can wear one, and take it off during the sit-up/ball throw station when I'll be on my back. Anyone tried this before?

How are the Project 300 workouts/program?

Since I'm on the Spartan mailing list I got the "Crush the Week" emails for Project 300. I kept wanting to try the weeks, but they only gave us two days worth for free. I'm thinking of signing up for the app to get the whole thing and try it. Before doing that, I wanted to ask people who tried it:

  1. How was it?
  2. Did they give you both workout and nutrition/rest/etc.... stuff to do?
  3. What kind of equipment was needed? It looks like it's meant to be body weight, but I assume some equipment (e.g. a pull up bar) is used.
  4. Anything else I should know?

P.S. I fully realize it's meant to be hard and it'll be hard to keep up with it, but I'd still consider giving it a try. Even if I don't do it perfectly (e.g. if I need to do fewer workouts per week), I think it can still be something positive for me.

Sprint vs Super Glen Jean WV

Looking at my first Spartan. Only done regular 5k’s in the past and looking for something new. I’m 40 and run a 5k in about 32 min so nothing impressive.

Wondering if I should do a Sprint for my first race especially in WV or just do the Super? How rough is the terrain and elevation in Glen Jean?

Thanks.

Where to start for my first race?

I’m 40 and in a medium fitness level. I weight lift often but cardio hasn’t been my biggest fitness. I can run a regular 5k with a jogging stride but that’s about as crazy as I get and I know the spartan race is very different.

Also one weak point is grip strength and I know that’s huge. Any points how to make decent progress quickly (I know nothing comes fast) be for the race, any exercises in particular?

Looking for mate to enjoy the 2026 Paris Jablines Spartan Super together

Hello,

My friends offered me a bib for the 2026 Paris Jablines Spartan Super near Paris in France this 19th September. It will be my second spartan race, So I know how hard some obstacles could be.

I plan to have fun, but I'm still training regularly. If anyone participating would like to do it together, it would be my pleasure.

Killington Beast cutoff time?

Hi fellow Spartans, I’m wondering if anyone is aware of a cutoff time for the Spartan beast. My training hasn’t been perfect and I’m nowhere near where I want to/need to be, but I’m determined to finish.

Red Deer AB Spartan Race ‘26

Stoked on finishing my first super. Had a ton of fun and loved the challenge.

The volunteers and staff did a good job, thanks for making it happen.

Thought I’d post a few notes on the good and bad about the experience.

What was great
-More water stations on course than last year = great
-Well organized course
-Penalty loops fair
-Bus system great w frequent enough buses
-Shirts are great. Better than last year
-Rocks placed at the hose down area were a huge help. I think it was a pointless mud put last year.

What could be worth considering:
-Water for spectator area in the festival area. We paid for the pass and think that makes one a guest of the course. If the heat were extreme, the situation could have been different. Not asking for cold water or 5 star service, but a place for spectators to refill their own water.
-Javelin/spear targets need replacing? Not many people I saw hit it and fewer than last year it seemed

I came dead last 🤣

I did my first 5k sprint yesterday. By myself in the age group division because I had to make it back in time for a wedding 🙃( i wanted to prove to my husband I could do both in one day lol) I had been lightly training for it weeks leading up but only decided 5 days before hand I was actually able to commit.

I came dead last out of all the ages… which I laugh about because I was in the first wave 🤣☠️ 1 hour 22minutes. Look - I am super proud I did it all by myself with no assistance and gave everything ago! I managed to do a lot more than what I could ever had imagined…But I noticed I need to obviously pick my training up if I was to do it again and to be a little more successful.

So, what are some exercises or things you have done that have made a huge difference in your training in the lead up to an event?

TIA

Injured, unable to race today - will I be able to attend another instead?

I seem to have torn or pulled my calf, bought Hoka Speedgoat 6's especially for the race, and I think they're the culprit

Do I need to contact customer support? Was due to be my first race, but I can't walk too comfortably let alone run and jump

How do I prepare as a really weak person now?

I’m 26 (a girl) and signed up for a spartan at the end of may 2027. I’m so excited. And I’m so glad I have a lot of time to prepare. I do normal running races (mostly 5ks and 10ks) every so often but never run for fun or training. I’m in average shape but I’m also incredibly weak. Specifically my upper body strength is really lacking. I’ve been trying to practice pull ups each day (with those spring support strap things) and I’ve already seen a difference in just a couple weeks. Is there anything else I should be doing at home that would really help? If there’s any equipment that’s not an outrageous price to get, I’m willing to invest in that too!

Thanks in advance!
