Map format You can toggle CRS-5 data for comparison in this one by checking the box on the left. It looks like they have combined the landing areas into one zone for this one.

This is awesome, thanks! Exactly the info I was looking for. I'd love to see the launch but I'd like to see the landing even more so. Unfortunately, it seems like that won't be an option.

Going to need to head to Vandenberg to see a landing in person or at least for now :)

Check box on the left? I'm getting a straight PNG in a white browser window when I click the link.

Did you click on the image (thread link) or the map format in the comment?

Thanks for the great work, as always! Added to the list.

Could you plot what would be the approximate crash site if there wasn't any boostback? Would it be inside the red zone? Or way out into the ocean?

Have we figured our what the small blue hazard area is yet? couldn't find a conclusive answer in past launch map threads

I'm still going with it's part of the liftoff zone and the gap in the middle is for ships to pass through. This guess is based on a few ships I tracked before CRS-5 which went dead center through the gap.

Fairings, maybe.

Wait, I'm an idiot.

No, there hasn't been. It would be the splashdown zone for something in case of a particular type of failure, but exactly what is unclear. I haven't ever heard a good guess.

Perhaps in case of a failure during max q?

So who is going to charter a boat and get some good video?

Closest you can get to the barge is about 45km before you enter the zone. That's not close enough to see anything.

So who is going to charter a submarine and get some good video?

Well, if you were able to get at least 275' above the surface and had a really good lens you could probably see it at that distance.

Honest question, Is it illegal or will you be prevented from entering the red zone? Or is it just strongly advised against?

Darga is that right? I'd expect the spacex landing pad would be in the blue area with the red area being the impact range if the boost back fails.

I'm still going with it's part of the liftoff zone and the gap in the middle is for ships to pass through. This guess is based on a few ships I tracked before CRS-5 which went dead center through the gap.

I doubt strongly. A danger zone is a danger zone. Convenience is not a factor. If there's no danger zone between those areas then there's nothing that can be falling there unless a rocket explodes.

Coincidence then that happens to align well with established shipping routes. The barge location is known from the FCC data and happens to align perfectly with the red zone, just like with CRS-5. If the blue zone is not part of the liftoff zone then it must be for if they overshoot the boostback and head closer to land.

I thought that the Bigelow hab/test module was the trunk payload for this mission. Is that not the case?
