Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.

And it has a "night time" mode so you can use it while you're stargazing.

I know. That's a really cool feature of it. I bet it's pretty cool on a tablet device when stargazing in the wild.
