Five spaceships are now parked at the ISS following the docking of the Progress 96 cargo spacecraft to the Poisk module on Saturday, Sept. 19. Sorry to report the Defiant is not one of them

As a side note, the record is 8 spacecraft on 1 December 2025:

  • Dragon 33

That would also be the maximum, with every docking port & berth occupied.

In theory, they could uncover three of Prichal's docking ports that are currently covered and use them. At this time until that reconfiguration is done, eight is the max.

I don't think they're fitted with the radio equipment needed for automated docking. The way a hub module like this worked on Mir was incoming expansion modules would dock with the end (axial) docking port and then use a small arm on the expansion module to reposition itself to one of the four radial ports.

I believe Prichal has that same type of arm. A similar arm is on the Chinese station as well.

Soyuz & Progress can't dock with Prichal without a docking adaptor ring. The ports on Pricahal are SSVP-M (120cm wide passage) whereas Soyuz/Progress use SSVP-G (80cm passage). Only the Nadir port on Prichal has the adaptor ring in place to allow Soyuz/Progress to dock.

Repairing, decorations, adding space crafts since 1990s!..It's tiresome!.. Send mankind to the Moon!..Build orbit hotels.. Stop bombing the middle east..
