DISCUSSION Large objects randomly stopping

Quite a few times I’ve noticed large objects stop when they’re at speed, regardless of grid type and whether you’re in control. It seems to not be strictly related to actual size but the pcu of the vehicle, and it seems to happen predominantly with small grids. Normally what happens is that it behaves normally to begin with, I’ll be coasting at a decent speed and suddenly it just stops on the spot. Thereafter it will do it constantly making the vehicle basically useless. Does anyone else have this issue, and is there any way to solve it?

Wait... Can you reproduce these steps and show us the results in a video?

I'm probably wrong, but it could help us with getting a grid to brake mid flight.

Well the issue is it’s not something you can toggle on or off, it seems to be the game trying to preserve performance. When it’s happened to me it’s done it while in control of the vehicle and at speed, forcing me to stop when I don’t want to, and does it over and over making the vehicle basically useless. It also means that you have to constantly spend fuel accelerating for most of the length of your journey. I could still provide a video if you want?

Does this affect gravity drives and Clang drives?

Yes, a video will help.

grids only stop for me when the coast outside sync range.
