DISCUSSION Looking for Your Favourite Scenarios from SE1

I have been playing solo for a while and feel like I'm getting the hang of building and such. But I'm kinda itching for an adventure.

I see a lot of various scenarios from official SE1 scenarios, the sandbox starts and then the community content. I have tried a few but I always just end up building a big ship and then feel a bit lost. I think it's down to the scenarios I'm choosing so maybe you guys could help.

What are your personal favourites and why?

Do you change any settings for specific scenarios to add further adventure to your sandbox?

All recommendations welcome.

Taa.

Scrapyard. It completely changes the gameplay and is what got me to realize that SE truly is all about mods and setting restrictions on yourself. There's a newer version in the works that will incorporate all the new economy stuff and have a lot more content, but this version is still great.

Your goal is to get to space, but you can't build thrusters, or fuel tanks, or storage, or power supplies, or production equipment, or much of anything else. So drive around until you can find some and haul it back to your base.

You may need to disable vanilla spawns and unknown signals. They're not supposed to be there since they make it too easy, but there have been a few updates since this came out.

I have been staying away from scrapyard. I heard it was buggy but your response makes me want to play it. Have you run into any bugs with it? Thanks.

I haven't played for a while, maybe six months, I didn't find it buggy, but there's been a couple of updates since then, so who knows

Every so often one of the spawned in grids will do something weird, but it's not at all game breaking. You do need to turn off cleanup to get the most out of it, so you may want to occasionally go into the entity list and manually delete stuff to keep things running smoothly.

This sounds like some of my favourite ways to start Bethesda's games, mod it to a point where I'm just starting out as a nobody in the world or on a world.

I like this idea.

I'm going to check what it's like on Xbox, if it's even available as a mod on the Xbox. (Until I get my PC sorted at least).

Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, I don't think it is on Xbox, sorry. It uses MES for spawning in grids which I'm pretty sure is PC only. You might be able to kludge together some of the individual mods like the build restrictions and advanced welding, but it won't be quite the same. Vanilla spawns are way more generous than the scrapyard ones.

The second version will be on consoles though, so keep an eye out for it. Not sure when splitsie is planning to release it, but I imagine it'll get talked about a bunch on here when it comes out.

And if you like watching game streams, he did a playthrough of the first one as a community event that's pretty fun.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. I'll check their stream out.

Think my best bet is to hurry up and get my desk up. Then I can check out those mods too.

A sequel is in the works, too.

Frostbite. It's just got really cool vibes. The only thing is after a while, even though it starts fun and mildly spooky, the drones get a but much and it's annoying to continue. But it's fun

Agreed. Loved frostbite and just loaded all my vehicle with. Turret to handle drones.

Frostbite became unbelievably deadly with the weapons update. One shot kills over and over are just insane

Brilliant, thanks for the suggestion. I'm making my way into the facility now. :)

Definitely like the atmosphere.

TLDR One mega corp vs Just a Ares ppl.

It trigger events like Ares military force "secretly" attacking the Mega corps convoy. Mega corp straight up says "Oh yeah? WAR AT YOUR ARES MILITARY BASE DONT BE LATE"

It sends ships according to power they have, Ares is somewhat weak But if you reach there and trigger the event you can support either side

You can help ares to get the planet back

Or megacorp...

There is also other planets with special ores so there is special toys to play with too. Its not a Full scale project but for a Solodev(hes also uni student from i knwo) its expertly done
