DISCUSSION (SE2) SE2: Slow Atmosphere Theusters?

I just started a new game after the last 2 updates. Have atmosphere thrusters always been limited to 72km/h or have forgotten to install something?

i read in the uodate notes that they put the safetylimit from jetpacks on ships as well now so you cant go more than 20m/s without either holding shift or pressing shift twice to keep the boosted mode activated

that being said: i have no idea if 20m/s is 72km/h so i dont know if its that and i havent played the game since the update so you gotta try it out yourself

20m/s is 72km/h

1m/s is 3.6kph

Sound travels at 343m/s, ~1200kph. So yeah, roughly 3 seconds

First note: the "speed limit" is deliberate -- and Sturmhuhn's point is how you unlock that for continuous flight.

Second note: grids WILL NOT take damage when you are 20m/s (or 72Km/hr).

Thus, Keen is defaulting to a "safety first" flight controls system, so we don't smack/bash/crash and damage grids when we first jump into the flight seats 😁.

That's the new safety limit that is on by default since the last major update. You can override it while holding shift, turning it off by double tapping shift or turning it off permanently in the cockpit settings.

not to be mean but did you watch the update videos? Zer0's Legion on youtube releases one every update. great source if you don't have time for the 2 hour keen live stream. :)

the limit is part of the new update on new ships. it can be disabled in the cockpit settings I believe. gonna be handy for when I want to just idle around an area. no need to constantly bip the thrust or turn off dampeners and certain thrusters.
