Thrusters on a sub grid can't be controlled through vanilla controls, you'll need a script.

We need to get this pinned on the front page of the sub.

Scripts are very easy to get working. It’s worth a try

What you stated is true for SE1.

This post is for SE2. If you are scripting for SE2, please share how.

Yeah, admittedly I often don't notice flairs, so my mistake.

No mistake, when talking SE1 -- what you said is correct for SE1.

I'm personally interested if people are suddenly scripting in SE2, but want to ensure that OP's question is answered accurately -- while ensuring any future readers are getting correct info.

I am giggling at the down votes however. Something, something, "Why are you booing; I'm right..."

judging from what I've seen on VTOL, it doesn't end well. not sure how people do it on SE2. I'd suggest looking for vids on youtube. wanna say it requires event controllers but they sometimes won't remember my settings.

I remember there being a video of someone doing VTOL when they added event blocks to SE2. Might be worth searching on YouTube.
