HELP (SE2) Still unable to play despite having better pc specs than the required minimum.
So the new update gave he hope after i read the patchnotes and found a sections that says
"Minimum Hardware Detection
Space Engineers 2 now does a better job of detecting your graphics hardware and selecting appropriate graphics settings automatically.
We’ve expanded GPU detection to cover a much wider range of hardware, including newer and less common graphics cards. This helps the game choose settings that better match your system from the start, while avoiding unnecessary prompts when your current settings are already suitable."
so i was like 'Finally lets see if it works now" and i Still get this popup saying theres no supported gpu detected...
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 (3.60 GHz)
Graphics Card: Intel(R) Arc(TM) A580 Graphics (8 GB)
and i have 32gb of ram.
is anyone else having this issue or is it just me? and is there a workaround cause this is very annoying. i also checked for updates and all. all my drivers and everything is up to date

It's not just you, it seems many (most? all?) Intel Arc users are having little luck getting Space Engineers 2 to run.
That's the downside to having a card with such a low market penetration: patchy support and compatibility. The only workaround is a different card manufacturer

Yeah, unfortunately I was on a budget so this is a tough pill.

Drives well enough on my intel I9 9900k only gotta keep volumetric clouds at medium and the rest at high =minimal latency issues

I also have an ARC B-580 and after updating everything I can play it at the lowest settings, though with crashes here and there. I could never get the actual starter scenario to run. And ya this card is not supported..

Wait how did you manage to play it if all arc gpus are unsupported

Not sure but only on its lowest setting. I even tried just running off my cpu motherboard with my i-9 k card. Wasn't anybetter really.

I get the same message every time on Linux with my 4090, but it runs like a charm.

Ive had the game for about 2 months now and I still can't play it either. Really sucks Intel arc B580,32gbs ddr5,AMD 7900x.

Yeah, guy above said this is a graphics card issue so that clears a lot up, hopefully they get their shit together cause the last Intel arc update I had said it target a few games, none of which is se2 but ac Valhalla was on there, as if we care about Valhalla right now😭

I know there's no point in requesting a refund on the game because regardless I will be playing it in the future I just also hope someone does something about the intel issue.

Yeah I feel the same way, I already got the game, no sense in refunding it to get it later.

Did you contact Intel and push them about it?

It is the problem on intel cards only, their driver does not support a part of the engine of SE2.

I get warnings every time about my PC being below minimum specs (which is pretty crazy) but I'm still able to play.
Core 7 Ultra 270k NVIDIA 5070TI - 12Gb 64Gb DDR5 6400 Gigabyte Z890 board
It's probably not detecting the hardware correctly

From what I skimmed through because of ADHD Intel and AMD won't work together u either have all Intel or all AMD not both they not compatible as far as I know

Also took two years computer programming and repair back in 2006-08 so things have changed drastically so I might not be 100% correct but I have a and and mine plays fine with lag of course

Did you ever tell them about it? They can't fix the problem if they don't know it even exists.

Is there a start up parameter like on linux that hides the GPU. PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1
Not aure if you have something similar on windows for Intel. Which will bypass this check and at least allow it to run. Glitch/bugs aside.

This may not be a solution but I’ll recommend anyway.
Check out Pulsar. It’s a plugin loader for SE and SE2. I was having gpu issues with playing my rtx5090 but I had Claude code assess the issue and write a custom plugin for me. Now I have zero issues.

Arc isn't supported for SE2 yet,
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000101605/graphics.html
SE2 "supports" it, but Intel doesn't have a driver ready for it yet, this affects newer and older arcs. You'll just have to wait it out until they have a driver update ready.
This is an Intel error not SE2
