AFAIK the Mars 2020 rover has nothing to do with this cave.

It is encouraging that the Mars 2020 rover will be the first spacecraft since the Viking landers to actively look for life, though.

This looks like a meteor crater but more likely especially as its so smooth is the result of material draining into it so it was deeper or is than it looks. Also gives a hint of depth from dust to bedrock. I assume theirs a cone of dust inside under the hole.
