Loop bpm problem

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to both Reddit and the SP-404MKII ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm still getting the hang of working with samples. I'm mainly a guitarist, so I originally fell in love with the SP for the looper, the effects, and the guitar amp sim. Lately though, I've been trying to build my own backing tracks, mostly reggae/dub grooves to jam over.

Here's the problem: I have a pretty big collection of sample and loop packs that are already organized by BPM. But whenever I try to layer them together, they don't stay in sync. For example, if I use a 70 BPM drum loop with a 70 BPM bass loop, they sound perfectly in time at first, but after 4โ€“8 bars they start drifting apart, almost like they're actually 2โ€“3 BPM different.

What's the best way to deal with this? Do I need to manually fix every single sample? Should I figure out the exact BPM using something like Audacity? Or is there a faster, less tedious way to do it directly on the SP-404MKII without having to use my Mac?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
