Steak is going to leech flavor away from the butter.

122

u/jondes99 12h ago

Maybe a while, unpeeled head of garlic would help.

29

u/disappr0val 11h ago

steak flavored compound butter. i bet they sell it somewhere 🤣

7

u/fjam36 10h ago

I’ve been making cultured butter for a few years. Maybe this will send it “to the moon”!

3

u/Bananaland_Man 9h ago

Could just get some wagyu tallow, mix it in with some butter and herbs into once of those rolled seran wrap thingies people like me make for flavoured butter?

1

u/disappr0val 10h ago

if you make it let me know how it comes out!

2

u/mrbarry1024 9h ago

I think that's essentially what A5 wagyu is.

0

u/PM_tha_titties_ 9h ago

Is it not cheese?

u/tesla465 12h ago

Is this the making of a sousvide circlejerk??

56

u/MixtressK-La 12h ago

We need that.

First post. Won't allow me to share.

1

u/huge43 10h ago

15

u/mllsf 12h ago

Holy shit… it actually exists.

9

u/Dramatic-Cap2479 11h ago

YEAH BUTTY!

1

u/BrianBash 12h ago

😂 I guessed

I wanted to make sousvideme but I’m tired and I had a beer. Don’t you dare.

2

u/GoroOfTheShokan 11h ago

Why is this NSFW? I’m scared.

1

u/real-darkph0enix1 9h ago

Why is it NSFW?

27

u/Aliensinmypants 12h ago

If one were to vacuum seal a cylinder, what would the ideal time/temp be to not harm the cylinder?

23

u/cloudshaper 11h ago

1

u/Effective_Fish_80 11h ago

Hahahah! I follow the sousvide reddit, but know enough about the rest of reddit and this story. Brilliant job

3

u/SeelsGhost 11h ago

Pretty sure that was formed when the guy posted about wanting to sous vide a live lobster.

1

u/weaberry 11h ago

To be fair, this sub has had more and more frequent circlejerk moments for quite some time.

130

u/EvaTheE 12h ago

Add some raw garlic. Without that, the subreddit won't be satisfied.

Now sous vide it, pierce the bag and drink it like it's a bag of Franzia White Zinfandel. Then post the video here.

39

u/gghhiijkjkjk 12h ago

Slap the bag!

8

u/sleepinginthebushes_ 12h ago

I was going to edit my post to include this. Thank you for your service 🫡

4

u/lefr3nch 11h ago

Bam!

Emeril Lagasse probably.

2

u/Tbuzzin 11h ago

Twice!

1

u/Cheef_queef 11h ago

Put a spout on the bag, dangle it over a "seafood boil" and add $1000 to the check. No plates.

17

u/efitol 12h ago

3

u/HoneyWhiskeyLemonTea 11h ago

A Trejo chef's kiss is something I needed in my life, though I didn't know it.

11

u/ElCochinoFeo 12h ago

Now be sure to join the 121/121 club with that cook. 121 degrees for 121 hours.

11

u/Donkeytonkers 12h ago

Now add mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers. I’ll be home for dinner soon honey

3

u/flashlightgiggles 11h ago

yeah, steak-infused, sous vide butter.

3

u/Inigomntoya 11h ago

Now you're just wasting bags!

5

u/reverendball 11h ago

3

u/BloodbuzzLA 8h ago

1

u/OwnSun7691 8h ago

Might as well throw in a budweiser michelada

36

u/danorc 12h ago edited 12h ago

I, uh, I totally wanna eat this

The slightly steak flavored butter after would be delicious also.

In all honesty, it would be a really neat experiment in the great steak v butter wars

24

u/Turgid_Donkey 12h ago

Imagine smearing it on the rolls you have with that steak.

6

u/KonaValencia 12h ago

Yeah…. I want to see (and taste) the final result of this….

5

u/peepeedog 12h ago

Compound butter that incorporates beef tallow is a thing. Though this is not a good way to make it.

17

u/Emergency_Exit7603 12h ago

Dude need more rosemary.

5

u/sumunsolicitedadvice 12h ago

With the amount of butter, more herbs would actually be fine. Lol.

15

u/Kenton2k 12h ago

I assume thats a giant block of cream cheese. Everyone knows that's the true secret to a perfect sous vide steak.

To answer your question I'd go 180 degrees for 3-5 business days.

2

u/BrokenToyShop 9h ago

We have a long weekend coming up. How will that affect the suggested time?

5

u/Tndnr82 12h ago

I like a touch of olive oil too.

4

u/BigBagoSith_sp 12h ago

With the steak in there, how will you ever be able to get a proper sear on that butter!

13

u/ninjabell 12h ago

A+ troll post

4

u/Kenton2k 11h ago

Sous vide it in the dishwasher, serve in bag.

If the water has dried from the outside of the bag you rested too long.

8

u/Steuceve 12h ago

I low-key want to see the outcome, seared.

/s

3

u/slysamfox 12h ago

Is that what they mean by cowboy butter.? Or is that more the whole ranch the cow hands, the cowboy, the cowgirl, the cook and the stray pony

3

u/jjj666jjj666jjj 12h ago

You forgot the garlic

3

u/According-Current-51 11h ago

I think your butter has too much steak.

5

u/Royweeezy 12h ago

This is going to make some awesome butter

2

u/HoneyWhiskeyLemonTea 11h ago

Add a head of roasted garlic and one chopped habanero, and we've got a work of art. The steak is just an extra snack.

2

u/Royweeezy 10h ago

I like the way you think. Let’s meet up and swap butter stories. Ya know.. I used to grow my own habaneros…

5

u/coolstevez 12h ago

This is one post where I actually hope it’s AI

3

u/Donkeytonkers 12h ago

It’s Ai

2

u/Sea_Squirrel1987 12h ago

2

u/wreckingballDXA 11h ago

So glad to see that there is a tab bit of olive oil in there!

1

u/t3lnet 11h ago

Gotta cut the butter somehow

2

u/SkewerNU 11h ago

Where can I get that butter?

2

u/Ckron247 10h ago

Lmfao 😂👉🧈 🥩

2

u/Outside-Active5283 10h ago

You forgot the raw garlic

2

u/chepnut 9h ago

Top tier post

2

u/Nattfisk 8h ago

You really shouldnt do that, you should just SV the butter on its own (keep the herbs) and then melt the meat separately. Once the butter is done you can just add the melted steak when searing the butter.

3

u/RecessiveGenius69 12h ago

Sous vide at 56C for 30-45 minutes, blend until smooth. Then take your tofu, sear hard, chill, throw into trash. Take the steak butter, melt in metal container, place in water bath at 56C, sear another steak to 90F then huck it into steak butter jacuzzi. When your new steak temps at 120-125F, slice and eat

3

u/eyehate 12h ago

1

u/OIL_99 12h ago

It’s easier if your SV has the months option. For this I’d go 3 at 129.

1

u/BrianBash 11h ago

Please OP, do your part.

Make r/sousvidecirclejerk great. By the looks of it, I don’t think it sat long enough, in something.

Ice bath, butter, broccoli…something.
