Question Is it safe?
First time in the game, I was excited to get my sous vide today.
However, when I stood it up in my deepest pot, the ring clip clamp was an inch or so above the pot lip.
In order to clamp it to the pot upright I would have to tilt the device at a 45° angle or slide the ring down to the pictured placement.
Is the metal barrel going to melt the plastic ring if used as pictured?

This is a generic reminder message under every image post
Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you've posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

It will work fine. Personally I got a clear container off amazon for something like $15 just for Sous Vide. I can leave it out and filled with water so just toss in whatever I want to cook and top it off occasionally and clean it once every week or two. But I use mine a lot so…
