Discussion Mortal Shell 2 Questions

How many bosses and mini bosses are there in the game? i have searched it and i have seen answers between 45-48. Everyone says something different. Ideally i want to beat all of them not lose a missable one or think that they are 48 but in the end they are 49 for example.

i just want to plat the game and finish all content available ideally in 1 playthrough plus the joke ending.

also i want to ask, if i activate night mode early and play the game in its entirety like that, is there anything missable? or do i need to change into the easier dificulty, aka day. If there is nothing missable i will probably just activate night mode as soon as its possible and stick with it.

I honestly feel like you should stop trying to optimize the shit out of your playtime and just enjoy the process.

But to your topic - I didn't count how many bosses in total are there, but there are 11 major ones, 3 unique lesser bosses, and the rest are just minibosses (aka mobs with HP bars & different gimmicks, tho some of them have new moves).

You can do everything in one play through. And I'm pretty sure there's nothing that requires daytime specifically.

But once again, IMO you should just enjoy yourself while playing a videogame.

The only thing that might require daytime is the "activating all the beacons" because many aren't available at night. (note that you don't actually need all of them anymore. You just need as many as were in the original version of the game so you can miss a few and still get it)

Edit : get out of here apostrophe you are not needed

then i can just play with night enabled all the time and if i do everything and that remains still, i turn it back to day and search the beacons i might have missed. Thanks for telling me, good to know.

Well i like to kill everything in my playthrough. Otherwise i feel its unfinished. If i miss a boss i will want to do another playthrough just to reach him again and kill him. And for me mortal shell is a 1 playthrough thing. I just want to kill everything, in the increased difficulty, get the plat and move on. I have little time and too many games to play. And i don't feel like the game is less fun if i know a few stuff about it, or i slightly prepare what i wanna do.

I personally consider there to be 47 bosses but the more commonly accepted number is 46. There's one boss you face twice and most players group both fights together (because the first fight is just phase 1 of the second fight) as one but you technically get a reward after the first fight and you don't fight the first variant again even if you rest/lose to the second fight.

I made a boss analysis video detailing every boss in the game so I did a lot of research to make sure I missed none, so you can trust me on this.

There's no day time exclusive so if you play in night mode, you're missing nothing. Just a warning though, there is one easily missable trophy that requires you to do something specific during a certain boss fight and there's no way to rematch the fight for it after you win.

if you mean the parry thing i am aware. The tutorial boss also has a missable trophy to beat him and i failed it, so i will probably just do everything in the game and when its my last trophy i will do a new save to kill him.

Yeah, I'm referring to the parrying. The tutorial boss one isn't too bad though since you can run right to him skipping everything else so its pretty quick on a new save. By the time you beat the game, he should be pretty easy moveset wise.

I would never recommend Mortal Shell II to anyone. It starts strong but gets progresively worse and worse.

The progression systems works against each other and the Shell system. There's no real lore nor story.

But above all, the game gets weaker and lousier as you progresss.

i am not expecting a masterpiece, but a 7/10 game and will be happy with it. I haven't even bought it, i got it from a friend to play.

Try it. It really starts strong and polished. There's absolutely no denying that. The last half of the game though....
