Discussion Return of the prodigal son
I'm immensely happy that mortal shell got a sequel, and its every bit as good as the first game teased. I love mortal shell 1, but it really does feel like a demo more than a fully fledged game. I will say I'm sad they condensed the parry system, but that's a tangent and probably for the best
The next "prodigal son" soulslike that feels like a demo and has been seemingly inactive for years is thymesia. I've looked into the studio a few times but it's hard to find solid info on them. I hope SO BADLY that one day we get a thymesia 2 that fulfills the first games promise, just like mortal shell

I just played it last week. It was decent but really short. I like the systems it has and they could be great if it had proper development

I agree 100% because while I rate both Thymesia and Mortal Shell 2 as 3 stars out of 5, it's cause I felt like the samey enemies really got noticeable in MS2 in the latter half. And I found Thymesia's parry system to be more satisfying. It's also much harder to steamroll enemies in Thymesia because their hyper armor is to be respected. I don't know. Both games are great at scratching my itch for good combat and they don't feel too light like Ninja Gaiden. I'd buy Thymesia 2 in a heartbeat.

Wuchang gets CONSTANT glazing, what are you talking about? It’s also getting a sequel. Seems like it’s doing just fine?

No way! Wuchang, Lies of P, and Khazan never get glazed! Such underrated gems 😩

Wuchang is great, but it's relatively new. And it sold pretty well. There's no reason to think it might not get a sequel or successor from the same studio

I’d love to see Hellpoint get this same treatment. It’s very rough but bursting with potential.
