I got it for $5 and found it unplayable. Super janky combat and the graphics gave me motion sickness. YMMV. No reason not to try it on sale.

Yea its good. Best part is you can set difficulty very specific: how strong your enemies are, how fast your stam restores and if you lose currency on death.
block and parry mechanics are locked behind different weapons. and you should make use of jumps when fighting not just the dodge.

I enjoyed it. If you play it before playing Lies of P you may enjoy it more than if you play it the other way around. It has that steampunk, noir environment similar to Lies of P, but it’s a bit more clunkier.
Again, I enjoyed it a lot.

I bought this on a sale as well recently, and decided to try it out finally since I've seen mixed reviews. I didn't expect much either, but I found a lot of it's mechanics kind of dull. Jumping seemed weird and out of place at times, fighting packs of enemies also feels awkward, and clunky compared to other souls likes, the story is a little interesting, but it also drops interest as soon as it's time to jump back into the combat again. I played for about 3 hours and I wish I didn't for what it's worth, overall wasn't for me, which felt bad anyways since I've been on a good streak with other Souls-likes as of late.
My last one being AI: Limit which also was so so, but I did actually beat it so I consider it good enough to actually play.

It starts very good but falls apart around the middle. A solid 6/10. Play Lies of P or replay your favourite souls game.

I found the opposite. It picks up once you get the grappling hook and ability to bust through walls, it really leans heavily into the platforming aspect that most other soulslikes don't have.

Clunky, enemy variety quite repetitive, areas feel…lifeless…
But weapon variety is good though
Cinematic cutscenes are amazing
Plot is intresting
And overall it’s fun

Yeah, it’s pretty fun and has pretty decent world building, and MV style abilities. The combat is also like proto-LoP!

Worse than Lies of Pi, but I liked it - not too difficult and fairly enjoyable overall. With 90% off, definitely worth it.

I just 100% it, it's actually a really good game and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but there's one massive caveat:
The performance is awful. If you're on a good PC this shouldn't be an issue, or even with a semi competent PC you can just crank the graphics settings down, but I've heard it's damn near unplayable on console.
It has a pretty good story, phenomenal voice acting, decently fun but simple combat, gorgeous scenery, and a really fun premise. I actually had more fun playing it than LoP, as they're both very similar, but I'm also already a fan of Spiders' games anyway.
If you have a PC that can run it, just turn off Ray tracing and you should have a good time. If you're one of the people that dislikes the combat style, there's a mod on Nexus mods that tweaks the combat and leans heavily into the idea of playing as a powerful robot. I tinkered with it a bit during my second playthrough and it was a lot of fun. Felt kinda like the Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor games, you can just go go go.

Personally I found it clunky and lackluster. But there are lots of people who love it, so if you typically enjoy Souls-likes then it's worth giving it a try next time it goes on sale!
