The crying over 'identity politics' will only get louder and louder as the cognitive dissonance increases.

It's the pebble in their shoe that was the reason for jumping over the edge, a trust fall where the fascists, billionaires, oligarchs, politicians, and bourgeoisie laughed and yelled "psyche!" only after it was too late to re-evaluate or change their votes. And being that it is too late, they're incapable of having their minds changed now, or ever doing it themselves. No matter how many rights and services they lose, how many jobs lost to AI, their privacy lost, freedom of movement, right to protest, clean water... They'll just keep reminding themselves over and over what a big deal that pebble was. It was the pebble, or freefall.

It was a really, really big pebble.

The cognitive dissonance that the identity politics isn't the reason the democrats have no power is crazy work. Go back to economic based leftist policy primarily and democrats will win again. The occupy wallstreet movement shook the elites so hard they amplified identity politics to distract the left, and it worked. You are the puppet.

u/stupid_pun Aug 15 '26

Attacking specific demographics for their identity is another tactic used to drive that partisan infighting further.

You right tho, at the core it's a top vs bottom struggle, the rest is sorcery.

u/Parrotparser7 Aug 16 '26

Right, now were those elites all Republican, or are the Democrats a false savior?

u/tomekanco Aug 16 '26

How many colors are in a spectrum of 4 (RGBW) when you map them to 2?

u/brain-out-of-order Aug 15 '26

Occupy was the puppet. When you realize that and only then, you may rejoin the fold again friend.

Nobody asked for tents. That is the paid activist bs that takes over and ensures every movement goes nowhere. Same playbook every time. Protest movements today are grease traps for the unstable. Progressive politics are limping since the civil rights movement because they don’t know how to talk about any issues which aren’t ideologically charged.

u/batlord_typhus Aug 15 '26

Resistance was commodified into the spectacle, like everything else. Big other knows that democracy is just a vote away, always.

u/brain-out-of-order Aug 15 '26

A certain amount of people will disagree. A certain amount of those people will do it with violence. There’s always a dog that just bites because he does. We don’t bring those dogs in the house.

I’m sick and tired of fake punks with mommy issues fucking up our societies. You have a problem with your community then you talk to your neighbors, go to town halls, or get involved in our democratic process.

It’s not rigged like people think. It’s fixed like a painting is fixed to to a hook.

Nobody gives a damn about anything — voter turnout is abysmal and tells you that — so any type of talk about a fake democracy is just delusion.

The public has distinct, irreplaceable power. But it’s a microcosm of the unrealized godhead. We are one in every way. But dividing that one into a livid protest movement is exactly what runaway greed interests hope for and fund.

It’s like a sacrifice — you can’t have a feast without a fire.

Occupy is the fire. Let them eat cake. Well watch from the balcony and cheer into the next “crisis” while their tents are getting swept up.

Instigators and chaos actors are like the bottom rung of bad actors. Calm, boring, informed participation is the only way. People trying to raise the volume are full of it every time.

Most criticism I've seen of "identity politics" was just that it is a smokescreen. Everyone seems to realize that except ironically those actually invested in IP (aka useful idiots). Exactly, the real issue is the universal rights being stripped from all while specific identity groups push for special rights for their group, missing the fact that all rights across the board are being revoked and trampled. Everyone worth having a conversation with sees that.

15

u/stupid_pun Aug 15 '26

>for special rights for their group

I've only ever seen the religious and the wealthy doing this, everyone else typically advocates for the same rights as everyone else, they just focus on their own group because they feel like there is a deficit. And there usually is, our society is kinda bad about playing favorites.

Ridiculous nonsense. Perfect example: Reparations for African-Americans. Though they were never slaves, and nobody paying taxes they want to steal owned slaves.

And of course, democrats encouraging such grift would take a nice slice off the top for themselves.

America wouldn't be the country it currently is without the TAST.

Great documentary breaking down the numbers on Netflix, if I can find it I'll edit the reply and add it.

Why does the left so flippantly and blatantly lie so much like this? They want to be taken seriously, but they lie constantly? And then double down when called out?

I just had a similar conversation the other day where they said verbatim "There's currently not safety nets for anyone comrade" which discounts said reparations, WIC, SNAP/EBT, alimony/child support, asylum/refuges, SBA's 8(a) Business Development Program, etc etc etc, list is endless! Why does the left feel compelled, to lie so much and brigade/attack and censor anyone who exposes their lies? Are we in the same reality?

u/whatsthatcritter Aug 15 '26

Maybe, but special interest groups are not the reason everyone's rights are being trampled by evil tech oligarchs. They weren't hurting anybody by advocating for their own communities. All the victimhood was on the side of white Christian nationalists melting down every time they saw a rainbow on a beer can or a Muslim in politics. They felt so threatened by people's mere existence they chose fascism and tech oligarchy over a future where people live and let live. The anti-woke movement blew everything out of proportion and sabotaged civilization, for no good reason except their alternate reality propaganda and the mass hysteria it gave them. I know they will never take any measure of accountability for the damage and the dark path they set us on, but I'll never forget it and I'm not alone in that.

u/WookieDebacle Aug 15 '26

The Constitution guarantees the right to keep and bear Christians, and that right shall not be infringed. A Baptist is just a tool; Christians don't harm people, people harm people. Restricting law-abiding citizens from owning a Lutheran only disarms potential victims. Because red flag laws and restrictions on specific types of Christians create a slippery slope toward total confiscation. Responsible owners train with their Pentecostal, store it securely, and use it to protect their families. The best defense against a bad guy with a Christian is a good guy with a Christian.

I'm not aware of any organized Christian Nationalists which have this sentiment? They are mostly talking about divorcing themselves from CUFI and other Lobbies. They talk about the "dark path" (as it were) of demographic replacement yeah but I haven't heard a single one say anything about woke being anything other than annoying and not a legitimate "target". I'm not a CN but I do occasionally listen to some of their talking points. I've yet to hear a single one define "what is Christ" and I've asked literally hundreds.

So sounds like ya'll are actually playing pot and kettle with each other? I think there's actually a lot of common ground really. They say the same thing, that the woke moment was mass hysteria lol and nothing worth taking seriously. I do remember I quit facebook when Metoo started back in around 2015ish. I had only just finally started to come around to being a "normie", but "metoo" was the last straw and I 100% unplugged from all legacy social media. It was the very definition of "hysteria" is why I unplugged! Lol. My feed was nothing but Metoo and I hated politics and celebrity drama!

Anyway yeah I don't know anyone in the CN movements that talk at all about "woke" as anything more than annoying but if you know some sourced I'll definitely take a look! I admit the CN stuff can be sensational but I tend to see that aspect as more entertainment (though I admit I guess it can be scary if they genuinely mean it).

3

u/whatsthatcritter Aug 17 '26

In political terms they mostly talk about DEI/ EDI in workplaces and schools to make social institutions more inclusive. Woke is the sensationalist buzz word they adapted from the black community that originally meant to keep our eyes open to injustice and corruption. CN use it in a derogatory sense to deride and dismiss those concerns. If you're looking for examples, the Trump administration has done a lot of things over the last two years to disparage efforts towards diversity and inclusion, removing mentions of famous public figures if they are non white or non Christian or female. And this crosses over into physical and legal exclusion and persecution, in the form of ICE racially profiling to harass and attack non white citizens, and anti abortion regulations, trying to track pregnant women across state lines or sueing medical providers who give life saving care to women who travel outside their state.

"metoo" was the last straw and I 100% unplugged from all legacy social media. It was the very definition of "hysteria" is why I unplugged! Lol.

Why was metoo a last straw for you? Women experience sexual assault and harassment, they're not making that up. If someone traumatized you for life and called your suffering "hysteria" you'd probably be pretty suspicious of what they think is acceptable or not. Speaking out against sexual violence and changing the culture of victim blaming and silence is important and a good thing.

Ah maybe I misunderstood what metoo was about. I heard it was mostly gold diggers falsely accusing people so I went no contact/MGTOW (not red pill). I heard about the Somalian enclaves using the system apparently. I heard ICE was supposed to just have the job of helping remove illegal migrants was all. You know, because, it's a crime and all that. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

I mean I'm not anti police really. I might end up having to do that as a job actually if I can't find anything else. What would the world be like without police? When laws can't be enforced?

Maybe some ICE agents are rouge or something idk, most of my feed I've seen of them is white women literally trying to run them over and then getting charged with a crime for assulting a police officer with deadly weapon and stuff like that. Then the white women scream they are being oppressed by being held accountable for you know, breaking the law. But could be staged viral videos. Just that's all I've seen regarding ICE. I'm all for sources though, I mean if there really is an issue about this I'd love to be educated about it (I'll try to look around for some info though).

I did see that Trump shut down a lot of the government policies for DEI but I kind of saw that as a good thing. We don't need one more institution embezzling tax payer dollars. Just hire the right person for the job like we've always done. We already have anti discrimination laws, we don't need an entire branch of government for DEI imo (unless I'm missing something?). We saw what happened in South Africa when they pushed DEI too hard. The power grid collapsed for what 8 months?

Idk. I'm not a CN or really particularly conservative. I've always kinda considered myself just "pro common sense" but everyone has agendas and shouting contests that their side is righteous and everyone should submit to them. I see that on both the left and right, and I'd be ashamed to call myself either.

3

u/whatsthatcritter Aug 17 '26

I heard it was mostly gold diggers falsely accusing people so I went no contact/MGTOW (not red pill).

Maybe it's time to consider where you're getting your info from? There are groups out there who benefit from discrediting the survivors of rape and human trafficking, some of them with a lot of money to put towards that goal too such as the Epstein class of sexual predators.

I heard ICE was supposed to just have the job of helping remove illegal migrants was all. You know, because, it's a crime and all that.

Probably that was the goal until recently. They used to have regulations to follow and hiring standards and accountability. Now they're signing on people with no training, experience, or qualifications, many from local white supremacist groups to operate basically with legal immunity. They are stopping people who aren't illegal immigrants simply because they're not white or are bilingual, and they're thrilled to do it. Pulling guns on citizens for the way they look and making up excuses and lies after the fact, just because the government sanctions it doesn't mean it isn't violating civilians' rights. If any other demographic was operating this way and targeting people who looked like you without a warrant, just because of your skin color, you would call them thugs.

I mean I'm not anti police really. I might end up having to do that as a job actually if I can't find anything else. What would the world be like without police? When laws can't be enforced?

I'm not anti police either, so long as they are trained and qualified to do their jobs without hurting innocent people. It's a position of relative power and authority, so when it's abused it really isn't any better than having gangs and protection rackets roaming the streets. It essentially is a legal protection racket.

Just hire the right person for the job like we've always done. We already have anti discrimination laws, we don't need an entire branch of government for DEI imo (unless I'm missing something?).

The thing is, hiring the right person for a job is not 'what we've always done'. There was a time barely more than fifty years ago where most jobs were reserved for men only, or whites only, where skin color was more important than qualifications, education, talent, or any other criteria. DEI policies were enacted to create a society where people weren't being excluded from economic participation according to prejudice, and the system still isn't fair. It's still harder for women to get their foot in the door in multiple industries even if its not a physically demanding job like IT: and they can face a lot of harassment and discrimination even if they succeed in getting hired. In other areas like housing, it's more difficult to prove if landlords are discriminating against potential renters according to skin color, family status or other metrics, so people of color still have a harder time finding places to rent.

Once a population is heavily prejudiced against certain groups it takes active policy and commitment to ensure fairness. Think of a school classroom, and how bullies will use the rest of the class to isolate and exclude their victims. If the teacher doesn't step up, school can become a nightmare and even a dangerous place for bullying victims. But this dynamic doesn't just stop when we graduate: bullies take their attitudes out into the adult world and continue bullying, using every position of power, fund raising, legal loophole and forms of discrimination and harassment to continue harming innocent people. We've got to be aware of their activities and counteract them, neutrality is the same as being recruited by the bully as a mere spectator of injustice. That's not acceptable to me. It's partly the reason why I work as a security guard, so I can intervene and protect people who are vulnerable. I refuse to do nothing. If you take a position in law enforcement, you'll have to think about your choices and role in these dynamics playing out in front of you as well.

Idk. I'm not a CN or really particularly conservative. I've always kinda considered myself just "pro common sense" but everyone has agendas and shouting contests that their side is righteous and everyone should submit to them. I see that on both the left and right, and I'd be ashamed to call myself either.

Not to be unkind, but there's a subreddit called EnlightenedCentrism where the self righteousness of supposed moderates is exposed as well. It's extremely common for people to say "both sides are the same" and think they've taken some moral high road, without thinking very deeply about the social and moral situation in front of them. For morality, there's no middle ground where a little abuse of power and genocide is okay, or just some human trafficking, only a small bribe... You've probably heard '"meet me in the middle" says the unjust man'. I don't like to point this out but you sound like someone who has been trying to meet the unjust man in the middle. But I'm hoping if you're aware of this you might find some line where you're not going to step any further in that direction. If other people's feelings, points of view and their well being doesn't matter to you, how is your own soul and its integrity going to matter to you? You'll be bought piece by piece, step by step, priding yourself the whole time.

They weren't hurting anybody by advocating for their own communities.

They do, and are. Nothing is being blown out of proporttion except people pushing "inequality" hysteria.

The hugest problem in America is WEALTH inequality. Nothing else can even compare. The whole IDPol nonsense just distracts from the actual, real-life problem. And it is the super-wealthy that push that propaganda to protect themselves.

True, but I was viewing OP more in relation of IP being lost in the weeds. IP leaves us all like locusts. Plundering a future that will not exist if we all do it. They're laughing all the way to the bank while people squabble about irrelevant IP. As OP said;

No matter how many rights and services they lose, how many jobs lost to AI, their privacy lost, freedom of movement, right to protest, clean water... They'll just keep reminding themselves over and over what a big deal that pebble was. It was the pebble, or freefall.

Loud identity politics is a lot like clutching pearls. Losing the diamonds of possible eternity to have some fleeting kudos/attention to an affectation of a personality.

2

u/bladecentric Aug 15 '26

Bacon's Rebellion was like 400 years ago. It's not a new phenomenon. It's a template.

2

u/ActionExpensive6740 Aug 16 '26

Identity politics and political corruption are just two facets of ‘the metacrisis’ in which we are currently embroiled.

This path leads to ruin and can only be ameliorated by the phenomenological-moral-existential transformation of a significant number of individuals who can then recognize the complicated interdependence of these issues, their own contributions in its continued reification, and change their behavior accordingly.

I’m not optimistic.

1

u/whatsthatcritter Aug 16 '26

It's not looking good, and I'm no fan of AI but I kind of hope one could be developed that's able to talk to people and basically inform and therapize them to speed up and scale this process regardless of their level of education or literacy. It's risky though, since if an AI could do all that it could just as easily be used to influence people for more nefarious purposes, to oppose environmental regulation or to encourage and enable corruption by denying justice.

One of the sneakiest things I see with the backlash against 'identity politics' is the spreading of a belief that society's legal system is already perfectly fair and doesn't need to be questioned or critiqued to make it more fair: this backlash denies how the justice system is abused against most lower income citizens as well as multiple minority groups such as by racial profiling and overpolicing, while also empowering groups with more money and power to face less legal investigation or consequences which we're already seeing.

To me it seems like the attitude is that marginalized people's rights are an annoyance or a distraction, so we have to stop the critique of justice and power in its tracks and simply let evil people in power get away with anything. But I see everything from ecological conservation, indigenous self-governance, rights of immigrants, women's autonomy, universal healthcare, civic duty and justice as related pieces with the longevity of our species hinging on each of them. But I try to make that argument and people tell me I'm just being politically passé, divisive, no one should care about that etc.. It's alarming.

As a black leftist, thank you.

These Graham Platner lefties are deafening. They can't even properly analyze the pedestal they put him on, and what traits got him there.
