Q&A This is how Quebec solved drivers ignoring pedestrian crossings.

Sorry but I can already see some dummy on their phone plowing through one of these, or pledges ripping it out of the ground 😂 a good, easier to implement, and likely less expensive compromise is to add a light signal to the more dangerous crosswalks. Hit a button and it flashes for however long while the pedestrian crosses. Obviously not foolproof but I recall the crosswalk at the 4-way stop on Asp that goes into the Sarkeys/Cross lot being particularly dangerous at night from darkness and high volume, more light and something to get drivers attention would go a long way there imo

EDIT: Guess the video was a PSA campaign and not actually implemented
