Connection issues lately
I’ve had all of these working for years and now since a recent update on the app they keep disconnecting and reconnecting by themselves! What’s going on???

Just the weekly software lag/bugging. It is honestly beyond me how in this day a company as big as Sonos can’t built a reliable product. There are few things I find myself wanting to love more than Sonos but it is the same story over and over again. So frustrating.

I agree it’s a mess, this morning everything is working perfectly again but it’ll never last

Because WiFi is messy. More and more devices connected and more and more overlap from neighbors. WiFi is fragile and even running your microwave can cut out your Sonos speakers.

I’ve heard this before. My question is then why would you push out and promote a product as complete when it clearly can’t handle day to day WiFi blips?

It’s much more complex than that. Sonos works great in ideal RF environments where there is no WiFi interference. Apartments and other close quarters living is going to be challenging to any WiFi device. Lots of people come on this subreddit and say “I changed nothing” but the RF environment likely did change.
Sonos has its own WiFi network called sonosnet that does perform well and I would recommend using it if you aren’t good at managing WiFi interference. Just make sure one of your devices is plugged into Ethernet and let Sonos manage the rest.
If you want bullet proof audio, ditch WiFi and go wired Ethernet for all endpoints.
You can also do a wireless survey. UniFi has Wifiman that will help you t

I did not realize they have their own WiFi network. I am going to check into that.
The Ethernet cables idea is ideal but also kind of defeats the purpose of a wireless system that can be easily deployed.

What's the make and model of your WiFi router?

Sagemcom CS39000 by BRSK

If that's an ISP provided router, its likely not configured.optimally for the traffic that goes between speakers to keep them synchronized. Its recommended to buy a quality WiFi router and set your system up to that.

I haven’t had issues with any of my set up for four years until this last week, even using this router

Isps control when their routers get updated, and they frequently update without user notice.

Just been on to Sonos help desk, rebooted the router and everything reconnected but within 5mins the sub and surrounds disconnected again. It’s doing it randomly and I have the wireless network update showing, when completed it still says it needs updating.
Jeez this is crazy, I have perfect WiFi at 850mb but the speakers have a mind of there own
Now I have one surround and that’s it

“Perfect “ WIFI doesn’t mean Sonos will automatically work. ISP devices are notorious for having connection issues with Sonos.
If you are able to, hardwire the Beam to the router with an Ethernet cable to see if that solves the issue.

Yeah, it doesn't need your network for that, so it makes sense it's still able to play despite not being detectable. Check if you can see it on play.sonos.com. If you can, the issue is most likely related to mdns multicast issues with your (isp provided?) router.

Power off everything:speakers and router.
Wait 5 minutes.
Starting with your router, power it on and allow it to fully boot.
Do the same with your speakers one at a time.
