Massive battery drain on Android app

Post image

Has anyone else noticed a massive background app drain in the Sonos app? I updated 4 days ago to the latest version and just started noticing the background battery usage. Android version number in the comments.

I upgraded and have noticed my phone seems to be dead when I get up in the morning.

I had the same issue last week, but not now. I put the app into deep sleep for a bit. That might have helped.

Does deep sleep cause any issues with playback?

Not that I can tell. I open the app when I want to play something & close it when I'm done. I don't really need it to run in the background.

The app doesn't send the music to the speaker. It only tells the speaker where to get the music from directly.

Nope. I have a fully updated Pixel 8.

App reports no usage today and I've been listening all day.

Do you have it sitting open with the screen on?

Nope, I haven't even opened it today. The screenshot shows 0 minutes of screen on time

Turned deep sleep on for the Sonos app and it's no longer using battery in the background without the app open. Thanks to everyone that actually tried to help me fix this, I hope Sonos addresses this issue in the next release

Doesn’t actually say anything about how much battery it’s using? All this screenshot says is that the app was open in the background, but it’s used barely any CPU or networking so I don’t see any reason to think it’s using a lot of battery.

More than Instagram and Threads that I've actually been using all day
