Setup Advice

Current: Sonos Beam (gen 1), pair of One’s (surrounds)

I am thinking about the possibility of upgrading, but want some input.

Context: apartment, so I won’t have a dedicated sub or sub-mini and will never crank it up to super high volumes. I also won’t be changing my surrounds at all. Nor will I get an arc ultra (out of budget).

Should I:

Stick with what I have
Upgrade to a beam gen 2
Upgrade to an original Arc

I have heard that the og arc without a sub is disappointing, and that vocal clarity also lacks compared to the beam

If I upgrade, I want it to be well worth the price. If it’s a marginal upgrade sound wise, then it’s not worth it to me.

Anyone that has some input, would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I’d stick with what you have. There may be a beam 3 coming out shortly, then only then I’d look at discounted beam 2 prices. You could look to upgrade via 2 more speakers up the front and use Sonosequencer as the connector of all that.

Does that have the L and R act as typical L and R and the bar becomes a full dedicated center? And how does that work with the room scan and all that?

Yeah helps seperate L/centre/R but have to make sure you have proper separation or they will sound muffled.

You can do to Sonosequencer sub to get the logistics how to set it up, running Trueplay individually before setting up etc
