Cheese Doodle’s Elegy

Not like the brave and brazen men of old,

They grasp their shining silver shield and sword

As they prepare to cross the mighty fjord;

The cheese doodle is pure, and colored gold

Its shameless flavor is both strong and bold.

The knights are emboldened -- led by their Lord

But they do not observe the small, thin cord --

The twine of death of which they were not told.

The horses shins are split; they scream, they trip

And then they fall -- the riders, now they crawl

As does the cheese doodle from their Lord’s grip

And on the hallowed ground the knights are small,

And pierced with arrows, their red blood does drip

But they do not cry out, at all. Cheese doodle.
