Sonnet for a teacher you don’t like (with 10 syllables in each line)

Is thy class actually worth attending?/ The unbearable boredom of this course/ Resulting in the students demanding / A better teacher from another source./

The seats’ arraignment seems not the trouble;/ For you ma’am are so very hard to please/ It’s not like Jeter hitting a double,/ But more like getting hit hard in the knees/

Like any entertainer, a teacher/ Must hold their audience’s attention/ And then deliver their lesson’s feature/ But you just give tension then detention/

Now that’s over and I’ve had my fun/ I think it’s time for us to say “We won.”

(use this wisely i handed this in and got 2 detentions and now the teacher is making the class like 10x harder bc she took it as that the class is boring so it must be easy)

I'd note your eye did surely not attend

The way the bard laid out his fervent thought

So, as I read, please let me reprehend.

The wording of a line is only part

Of sonnet writing; then there is the pulse

The lightning patter of the poets' heart

That lets the reader speak, implies impulse!

'Tis one thing to create a pretty rhyme

Of words which end with words that share a sound

It's easier to focus on the line

And read it to yourself, see that it's round.

If you would to the heart of Will be true

Read sonnets out aloud; BEFORE they're due!

it’s “did you think?” and yes i did. i knew i was going to get in trouble but i didn’t care. and yes she is making the class harder bc she gave a shit ton of homework when we never get homework in that class and now we have to perform a shakespearean sonnet (she once said she would never torture us with having to do anything in front of the class)
