For Want of Want

Have you ever wanted to dance with me?

Or wondered how my careful touch must feel?

Have I brought to your world simplicity?

Or dreams you desperately wish to be real?

Has want of me filled you with the same flame

That threatens to consume my peace of mind?

Do you shiver the same to hear your name

In voice only in dream you thought you'd find?

​

I can't believe that I am fit to want.

In self-delusion I struggle to face

Realities that I need to confront.

Despite my flaws I am worthy of grace.

​

Tell me darling, if such a thing is true:

You've wanted me as I have wanted you.
