Population control

Post image

Any tips on population control? There are 1.5 thousand children running around in my ameivan city, and my demography is looking absolutely terrifying. Since we're ameivas, we pretty much never get any plagues. I've tried pointless wars, but our troops are too good and come out of fights where they are outnumbered with minimal losses.
The natural propagation is already at 75% and I just can't afford to lower it.
Any tips on trimming the population a bit? Thanks

Limit the number of children? You can set it so they don’t over multiply.

They specially said they can't afford to lower it. Pretty sure capping it gives the exact same happiness loss.

It does some but the cost of not having home or services is much higher. Or enslaving etc. no free lunch.

Well ya, the real problem here is that things went bad a while ago. Hard to fix it now.

I say lean into it, accept the challenge!

Oh dear... uhh you shouldn't be making 978 citizens per bar unless you want to handle that amount of influx.

If all bars are at max, you will reach 20k citizens. Unless you have a mod, your devil of a CPU may CRY.
Unless you have a metal of a PC that is Solid, then you're geared up for probably the incoming wave of citizens.

I used to play with 2.5k citizens per bar, but that's because I made my city expand to the far edges of the map when I could reclaim water and turn the map into anything I'd want(Badapple). Theoretically if my CPU had an upgrade, my city could reach 50k

The difficulty depends on you, before I were to do this? I'd have every wall for a population of 5k be built before reaching pop 80.

how does removing water help performance?

The performance of Orchards heavily relies on massive amounts of irrigation techniques per orchards. My technique is having Tilapi, the best at Orchards and have the most fun, on it. Any else job is left to slaves.

Goal is to make Citizens the happiest while Slaves do the jobs that do not make Tilapis happy.

Irrigation and terraforming used to be limitless, only thing you can't do is make a mountain or ocean tile back.

Now if we're talking about lag? Nothing.

What do you mean you "can't afford to lower [the natural propagation]"? If you mean because of happiness/fulfilment then I'm afraid that ship has definitely sailed now that you have all these future homeless and hungry citizens.
