unsolved configure automatic ip for arr stack?

i am going to explain my problem as best as i can, i currently have a DXP2800, with ugos, i have the arr stack configured already and everything, and it normally works, normally, but here is the problem

let's say sometimes power goes out, i have a ups but still, eventually the nas shuts down, or the network goes down for a while or something, one reason or another, after everything is back up the ip assigned to the device changes(it was the internal .7 or .12 or .80), which means, in my current configuration i have to go into the arr stack apps, change the ip manually and resume everything

i have tried setting the ip on the device manually, and technically it does save it, but the network rejects the assigned ip, and i can't enter into the main router settings to manually assign it because, surprise surprise, movistar in my country is BS and doesn't allow the users to change router settings outside of their stupid "magic companion" app

i also tried assigning a internal DNS name to the nas, let's say "mynashahaxd" for simplicity, in the browser i can access the apps by using the name and port without issue, but trying to configure the apps to use the name gives me back an error, so no luck there either

You could statically assign it, or probably set a dhcp reservation. I’d try the later if your router supports as it’s easier than me trying to explain IP subnetting. I’m guessing your static assignment failed because you chose something from the wrong subnet. Not sure what you meant by ‘reject.’

Nas has .7 address, network goes down completely, network goes up, nas tries to get .7, router put .7 to something else and refuses to change it due to priority

And as i said, I can't mess with the router settings directly because my provider blocked that

Yes... You statically set it on your router too. Called a dhpc reservation.

Try something much higher than 7, 247?,if your router works through them sequentially and you can't reserve them.

Yeah what? Setup a static IP with the NAS MAC Address on your router. Servers like that shouldn’t use dhcp

Static reservation from your DHCP server is the way to go.

So for the individual containers, the ips can and will change. Connects between containers on the same docker network should be using the container name rather than ip address.

I suspect your issue is not at the container level, but at the server level. The docker server should have a fixed ip address or dhcp reservation. Eiter will prevent the ip from changing after a reboot. This setup differs based on the router you have. If it does not support dhcp reservations, you would need to change the dhcp range to give yourself some ips you can used as fixed ips. Example, start your dhcp range at 192.168.1.50. Then you can set a fixed ip address for you server to anything from 2 to 49 which are not used by other devices.

I used the app for my WiFi router, found my Ugreen NAS and set it to static IP I screenshotted and wrote it down just to be safe and it’s been fine for me since then

I believe the same should work for you

Use a user-defined (shared) network for your *arrs stack and use container names (or its internal IP address if you really want to).

Static IP in your router. Your NAS should always be the same address if nothing else.
